MIKE KEEGAN: Parades at the Etihad and on the streets of Liverpool. Trophies on show, tickertape flickering, thousands saluting their waving heroes. Meanwhile, the only buses going by Old Trafford the last few weeks have been the Stagecoach 256 and 255 services, on their way from ferrying workers and shoppers from suburbs Flixton and Partington to Manchester city centre. Luckily, there is a plan. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer (left) is overseeing some major changes to help get United back on top. He has already landed Daniel James (top left) and is now in the market for Jadon Sancho (bottom left), Joao Felix (bottom right) and Aaron Bin-Wassaka (top right). Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward (inset) remains in the fold but things are starting to change.

Daniel James has joined Manchester United in a transfer that marks a shift from the club's policy for glamour names at high price.  James has only come to prominence this past season so his profile remains relatively low, compared to some of new teammates.  Here, Sportsmail provides a pointer United's next signing.

Canadian boxer Adonis Stevenson has spoken in public for the first time since sustaining a severe brain injury in an 11th round knockout by Oleksandr Gvozdyk (top right) seven months ago. The Haiti-born fighter (left) was knocked out in a WBC light heavyweight title fight in Quebec City on December 1. He was immediately transferred to hospital after suffering a severe, traumatic brain injury and was placed in an induced coma for three weeks. Stevenson, who was released from hospital last week, continues to show impressive progress in his recovery, and he made his first public appearance since the fight on Thursday.

ROB DRAPER'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COLUMN: The Champions League reached its conclusion on Saturday evening when Liverpool lifted their sixth European Cup after a forgettable 2-0 win over Tottenham. The finale in Madrid may not have lived up to expectations, but the competition as a whole provided plenty of drama, intrigue and wonderful stories along the way. Here, Sportsmail's Rob Draper reflects on what he learned this season, from the resurgence of the Premier League, to getting caught up in Messi-mania.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has married his partner Amine Gulse at an Istanbul ceremony. Ozil was seen walking with his new wife alongside a parade of beating drums and flares. The Gunners star also showed off his dance moves as he and his partner jiggled to the music.

Ajax have upped the ante ahead of Holland's crunch UEFA Nations League final meeting with Portugal, by making a jibe in the direction of superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo is set to lead the line against Holland, as the two nations go head to head in the inaugural competition to lift silverware and increase chances of Euro 2020 qualification. With Holland boss Ronald Koeman now in the process of deciding his next match-day squad, Eredivisie winner Ajax opted to stir the pop by comically putting forward Jurgen Ekkelenkamp for selection.

Eden - the new beginning for Real Madrid . That's how Eden Hazard's arrival from Chelsea is being greeted in the Spanish capital. No one knows better than Zinedine Zidane that the genesis of the 28-year-old's move to Spain goes back at least a decade. This record-breaking transfer for Real Madrid has been 10 years in the making.

England captain Harry Kane looked as though he was consoling John Stones and Ross Barkley on Friday. The former Everton stars made costly errors on Thursday night as Gareth Southgate's side were beaten by Holland in the Nations League semi-finals.  Kane sat down next to Stones and Barkley during training and they looked in a sombre mood.   

Champions League winners Liverpool have revealed their striking new white away kit ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.  The six-time European champions will wear white shirts, navy shorts and white socks on the road next season. A red and navy trim runs along the sleeve with a navy ankle section on the socks.  Alisson Becker was also present at Anfield to model the new goalkeeper kit. The all green strip features bespoke short sleeves. A style synonymous with the Brazilian shot-stopper.

With the football season drawing to a close, stars of world football are taking a well-earned break, posting pictures from their travels on social media. Mo Salah hit the beach this week, pulling off a Daniel Craig impression (centre), while team-mate Fabinho opted for a city break (inset left). Anthony Martial was on the beach with his son (inset right).

England suffered semi-final heartbreak at the hands of the Dutch on Thursday as Ronald Koeman's men came from behind to book their place in the Nations League final. The Three Lions looked comfortable at half-time after taking the lead through a Marcus Rashford penalty and looked dangerous when attacking the Holland back-line. Holland's promising young centre-back Matthijs de Ligt was at fault for the penalty which England failed to capitalise on.

Pep Guardiola was present at Yankee Stadium to watch New York City's 5-2 win over FC Cincinnati in the MLS on Thursday, and even shook hands with the Bronx Blues players after the game.  New York City posted an album on Instagram containing photos of the Manchester City manager congratulating captain Alex Ringo, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi, Alexandru Mitriță and Brad Stuver in the home dressing room.  Mitrita scored the opening goal against bottom-of-the-table Cincinnati, with Heber doubling the lead on 17 minutes and Tajouri-Shradi adding a third after half an hour of action. 

Real Madrid have revealed their stunning new strip ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.  The classic white is combined with a gold badge, three gold Adidas stripes and sponsor Fly Emirates' logo is also in gold. The new design is inspired by the golden crown which has sat above the team's badge ever since they received their 'Real' title in 1920.

Mark Stevens (inset and right) shoved Lowry (left) after he crashed into courtside seats on Wednesday night at Oracle Arena. Lowry said Stevens also cursed at him 'multiple times' during the incident, which was captured on camera. Stevens was ejected from the stadium and is now barred from all NBA games and Warrior team activities through the next season. Lowry said on Thursday that he was 'furious' during the incident, noting that Stevens has yet to personally reach out to him and apologize. Both Warriors coach Steve Kerr and star Steph Curry condemned Stevens and praised Lowry for how he handled the situation.

Ashleigh Barty has become the first Australian to make a grand slam final in eight years after a stunning French Open win.  The 23-year-old beat American rising star Amanda Anisimova 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 in a whirlwind semi-final on Friday.  Barty will compete for the grand slam title against Czech Markéta Vondroušová, 19, on Saturday at 11pm AEST.
