Woodford Equity Income, which reached a peak size of £10.2bn in 2017 but now looks after just £3.7bn of savers money, has had a dismal run over the past three years. Part of this is due to investors pulling their money out of the fund, which is what led Woodford to freeze their money this week. But he has also made a string of bad bets on companies.

I have a 12-sided Australian 1982 Commonwealth Games 50 cent coin - is it worth a mint?
The 1982 Commonwealth Games were the 12th iteration of the sporting games that feature the countries that made up the British Empire. They took place in Brisbane, the capital of the north-eastern Australian state of Queensland, between September 30 and October 9 1982. The coin has 12 sides, and features 12 sporting events that took place. These ring the Commonwealth Games logo from 1982; three bands that form a stylized 'A' for Australia, and are also supposed to depict a Kangaroo in mid-flight.

How DID they let it happen? Now regulators come under fire over crisis engulfing star fund manager Neil Woodward
Lord Myners, who was City minister during the banking crash, said the Financial Conduct Authority was not 'awake' when Woodford started 'clever dealings' that should have set alarm bells ringing. The peer compared the regulator to crime scene investigators from TV show Line Of Duty 'who arrive after the damage has been done and did not anticipate what was happening even though there were clear warning signs that things were going badly'.

What's gone wrong for fund manager Neil Woodford and retail mogul Sir Philip Green? The This is Money podcast
It has been a rocky week for fund manager Neil Woodford and retail mogul Sir Philip Green - what has gone wrong for the pair and what can they do to recover? We also discuss the High Street, a 'bonkers' plan to tap pensions for first-time buyer deposits and an update on the state pension forecast fiasco.
Damning research by the taxman reveals how parents are confused - and gutted - to discover child benefit errors can hit their state pension
Parents have virtually no understanding that they could end up with a smaller state pension if they fail to fill in a child benefit form, according to Government research. One mum described herself as 'gutted' when she realised she had missed out on valuable credits towards her pension, while others admitted they didn't see the point in filling in a form for child benefit when they weren't entitled to get payments.

City Developments already owns 65 per cent of the company and Kwek is M&C; chairman. It has already tabled bids worth £1.8bn and £2bn but failed to convince shareholders to back those earlier offers.
Games Workshop shares march higher after the Warhammer creator hands out £5m in staff bonuses (again) and sales surpass £250m
In a characteristically brief pre-close trading update, it said that sales for the past 12 months would likely reach £254million - a 17 per cent jump on last year - while profits will exceed £80million. The Nottingham-based company, which has seemingly swerved tough conditions on UK high streets, also paid out more than £5million in bonuses to staff for the second year running.

ASK TONY: My insurer refused to pay a local firm to fix the damage after burglars used a blowtorch to break into my home
In February, intruders broke in to my home, using a blowtorch to burn off the locks on two PVC double-glazed doors to the conservatory and the kitchen. I claimed for two replacement doors with my home insurer, Ageas, as both doors and frames were damaged. At the time of my initial call, it offered a cash settlement of £717, even though it had no visual evidence of the damage.
What to do if you're one of Woodford's hostages: As the crisis-hit manager bans ANY withdrawals from his flagship fund - here's what you must know
Neil Woodford's Equity Income fund investors have been assured that while the value of their investment could rise or fall their money is safe, but they cannot get at it for at least 28 days... and they will still be charged fees. The shock decision to block withdrawals from the flagship fund has left many investors asking what will happen to their money. We answer the common questions.
I beat the car hire cowboys, and so can you! The man who won a refund from grasping rental firm Goldcar thanks to a little-known EU consumer agency
After countless emails, hours of Googling, phone calls and no less than eight months of chasing, MARK MORGAN has just received a refund of £61.50, from Goldcar. The Madrid-based firm debited £1,140.16 from Mark's account as a deposit, but only refunded £1,084.48. The discrepancy of £55.68 was unexplained.
State pension data blunder means 3% of savers are given WRONG figures: Minister admits shock error rate that could affect 360,000 forecasts
The shocking extent of inaccuracies in state pension forecasts was revealed by the current Pensions Minister, Guy Opperman, in a letter to a predecessor, Steve Webb. This follows Mr Webb's joint probe with This is Money into mistakes reported by our readers, who were misled into thinking they will get a higher state pension than they are due.
Should owners be forced to sell development plots cheaply? ALEX BRUMMER says Labour's move is straight from the Marxist playbook
ALEX BRUMMER: Among all of Labour's crackpot schemes to destroy free market capitalism in Britain, none is more frightening than the proposed 'grab' of private land that the party has just unveiled. It is a move straight out of the Marxist playbook, a tactic regularly deployed by autocrats the world over with the aim of burnishing their revolutionary credentials - with dramatic consequences. What Labour is determined on is a new age of collectivism. Well, we know how disastrously that worked out in the former Soviet Union and elsewhere - famine and starvation. For modern day examples, look no farther than Zimbabwe and Venezuela, where the confiscation of large swathes of property from the landowners to be gifted directly to workers led to collapsing food production, economic slump, and was a factor in the hyper-inflation and widespread poverty that followed.
The new Tenant Fees Act is now in force to give renters a fairer deal: Here's everything tenants need to know
In what has been hailed as a major victory for the country's 4.7 million rented households, the 'Tenant Fees Act' outlaws additional charges when a tenant signs up for a new property or renews a contract. These charges can range from arranging a viewing on a property to carrying out a reference check or renewing a contract, and typically add an extra £300 onto the cost of moving.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR MONEY?
How much do I need to save for my pension? A quick guide to retirement saving...
The amount you can save into a pension ultimately depends on what you can afford - but the longer you leave it the more you will need to save. We tend to put ambitious targets on our hoped-for income in retirement and then underestimate how much we will need to set aside to achieve that. So how much should you save?
What next for interest rates? Bank tipped to hold for most of 2019, as inflation stays low and Brexit is extended
Lower than expected inflation figures have added weight to expectations that interest rate rises will remain on hold throughout most of 2019. This combined with the Brexit extension is forecast to keep monetary policy steady, with rates held at 0.75 per cent. While unemployment is low and wages are rising, there are still concerns over Britain's consumer economy and business investment being stalled by continuing Brexit uncertainty.
What next for mortgage rates? Bank of England says rates will rise
Two-year fixes have plateaued in price over the past few months, following a prolonged period of falling rates thanks to fierce competition among lenders. But longer-term fixes have continued to fall, narrowing the gap between two and five-year deals, according to research from financial experts Moneyfacts.
