'The reality of it all hit me. We hate each other:' Nick Jonas reveals the bitter war between his brothers that led to their band breakup... and how he endured 'panic attacks' over the split

The Jonas Brothers formed in 2005 and were very successful, selling more than 20 million records worldwide.

But a 'deep rift' and 'a big disagreement over their music direction' saw the trio cancel their 2013 comeback tour just two days in.

And now Nick Jonas has told Stellar Magazine just how hard that split was on him and his brothers.

When he decided to walk away from the band, he says he realised: 'The reality of it all was starting to hit me: we hate each other, basically.'

However it was a fraught decision to seek a solo career, with Nick revealing he had 'full-on' panic attacks and anxiety over this departure.

Kevin Jonas revealed that it was 'a long road' getting to a situation where a reunion could happen.

'When this opportunity came up and we had the conversation, as brothers, to start doing this again, it was a no-brainer. I was ready to go,' he said.

The Jonas Brothers realeased their first single together in a decade earlier this year.

And Nick has revealed the seeds for the brothers reuniting were planted in Australia last year.

As reported by The Daily Telegraph earlier this year, Nick has revealed that talks between the trio began last year, when Nick, 26, and Kevin, 31, came to visit Joe, 29, in Australia, where he was working as a mentor on The Voice Australia.

The three men worked together on a commercial filmed at Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach in June 2018.

Nick told Stellar: 'We were thrilled to get to just hang. But once we got into the nitty gritty of it all, we were able to unpack a lot.'
