Mewis put the U.S. up 4-0 early in the second half with a goal in the 50th minute, and she was quickly followed by Morgan (5-0, 53rd minute) before scoring her second goal in the 54th minute for a 6-0 lead. Lavelle netted her second goal in the 56th minute to push the lead to 7-0. Then, after going nearly 18 minutes without scoring, the U.S. offense got going again in the 74th minute when Morgan netted her third goal for a 8-0 lead. Longtime teammate Megan Rapinoe followed in the 79th minute to push the lead to 9-0 before Morgan punched her fourth for a 10-0 lead in the 81st minute.
