Jennifer Aniston's personal trainer has revealed the advice he gives the 50-year-old actress to stay motivated at the gym — including the importance of drinking water and getting enough sleep every night.

In recent years, Jennifer has stunned fans with her athletic physique and youthful glow. This is partially achieved with the help of Leyon Azubuike, personal trainer and co-owner of boxing gym Gloveworx.

When speaking to Women's Health, Leyon revealed some of his top tips for clients like Jen to keep them motivated to workout and stay healthy week to week.

His first tip for people like Jen is to plan ahead with water intake before working out.

If someone knows they will be working out later in the day, then they should start drinking water earlier to avoid feeling too full before the session.

'The common misconception about hydration is that you should wait until you're thirsty, and then drink until you're full,' he told the publication. 'But if you pound water right before your workout, you'll just feel heavy and full and sluggish the entire time.'

Another tip from Leyon is the necessity of getting a good nights sleep prior to working out in order to avoid feeling exhausted the next day. This means focusing on getting around six to seven hours per night.

As for diet, Leyon told the publication he often promotes healthy fats to Jen and his other clients at the boxing gym.

'I love avocados, coconut oil, salmon, fish oil — anything that's a good form of fat is great,' he said. The amount of carbs and protein Leyon recommends to clients is then determined on their size.

About an hour or so before a workout, Leyon will then reach for a scoop of peanut butter with a banana and bread to properly fuel his body ahead of the session. He recommends doing something similar for all of his clients.

'When my body needs to tap into a fuel source, that's going to get me there,' he said.

Jen has been outspoken about her work with Leyon in the past year.

When she went on The Ellen Show in December, Ellen DeGeneres asked Jen about working with the personal trainer at the boxing gym.

'He's just fantastic,' Jen gushed on the show when speaking about Leyon. 'Look at that smile. Leyon is my gentle giant, and he calls me champ. And it's not weird.'

She even shared a picture of herself being held in Leyon's arms after a particularly difficult boxing session at the gym.

Leyon will also often brag about his client whenever she is on the cover of a magazine by posting the publication on Instagram to congratulate Jen.

Last year, he commended the actress for her appearance on InStyle's September 2018 cover issue.

'Throughout the course of my career, I've had the pleasure to wake up every day and do something I love with people I care about, people who share that same passion, energy, and infectious positivity for the task at hand, and to see those same characteristics transcend just the physical part of the exercise,' Leyon wrote in his post.

'This right here, this is very very special to me, being that it comes from one of the most AMAZING human beings I've ever had the pleasure to have in my life,' he continued. 'So to the hardest working, beautiful, vigorous, most extraordinary person — way to absolutely CRUSH this...I'm proud of you Jen, and forever proud to be your coach.'
