Mandy Moore, 35, stepped out in New York on Tuesday evening, heading to a J Crew event for National Stripes Day.
Although the holiday, which was created by the clothing brand, falls on June 21, they hosted summer soiree in Elizabeth Street Garden to launch a new line of striped clothing ahead of the actual day.
The This Is Us actress looked patriotic as she dressed for the event in a sexy two-piece red and blue striped dress tied into a knot at the waist.

She completed the look with a light denim jacket draped over her shoulders, a blue suede handbag and a pair of strappy gold wedges that matched her gold hoop earrings.

The Candy singer was accompanied by her friend Chase Weideman-Grant, who wore a matching denim jacket with a blue and white striped shirt, befitting the theme of the evening.
He reached to hold to open the car door for Moore, proving that chivalry is not dead.

The pals took to their Instagram stories with snapshots from the event that appeared to be a fabulous June garden party, complete with summer cocktails and endless floral arrangements.
Guests at the event were given the chance to design their own bouquets with Urban Stems - which many chose to carry home in a straw bag from New York-based brand Poolside.
The brand collaborated with J. Crew to create a striped straw tote in honor of National Stripes Day - the reason for the entire event - and had plenty of bags on-hand for guests to grab as they made their way around the outdoor party.
Earlier in the day, Moore posted photos to her story of her brunch and workout with Weideman-Grant.
Her gym buddy recently accompanied her on the dangerous trek to the Mount Everest Base Camp, which sits 17,600 feet above sea level.

They were guided by Melissa Arnot Reid, the first American woman to make the climb.

Moore credited Reid in the post for training them for the adventure: 'Breathing at altitude, for instance, is not easy.
'One of the greatest gifts/lessons that Melissa simultaneously bestowed on us during this trek was the fine art of pressure breathing.'
The brutal terrain has already claimed the lives of at least 11 climbers this year.
