Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa says safety her 'number one priority' after FDA recalls makeup line for containing asbestos

JoJo Siwa addressed the ongoing problem surrounding a make-up kit she's marketing after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a recall after confirming the product contained asbestos.

The Omaha native, 16, took to her popular YouTube channel to pledge that she was getting the problematic product taken off the shelves at accessories chain Claire's along with ensuring that future products will be completely safe.

'Recently it's been brought up to my attention that there has been a problem with one of my products in Claire's stores, with one of the JoJo makeup products,' the Nickelodeon performer said.

'I just want to let everyone know that, no matter what, safety is myself and Nickelodeon's number one priority in everything - in every JoJo product and in everything out there.'

Item in question: The makeup kit comes in a heart-shaped plastic container with zipper on the side, and consists of multiple pieces

The Kid in a Candy Store singer said that the makeup kit was 'something that, with a lot of things, that [she] put [her] trust into other people's hands.'

The former Dance Moms star continued: 'We are working really, really hard to make sure that this product is recalled and off all shelves, and also that anyone who has this product, you can get a refund no matter what it is, if it's used or it's unused, you can get a full refund.'

The YouTube star expressed her gratitude toward fans in their understanding over the problem.

'I just wanna let you guys know the situation, and I hope you understand and I thank you for understanding, because it is serious to me, and it means a lot to me.' she said. 'Cause it is my name, and it is my brand, and it is my face - quite literally.'
