The Watch What Happens Live host said that the matter was private and he was respecting Lisa's wishes to keep things out of social media after DailyMail.com broke the news that Jean died suddenly at the age of 84.

'She asked me not to mention it to anyone at all, so I respected her wishes and did not mention it on the air,' he tweeted to another fan. 'And before you yell at me for not mentioning it tonight, I want you to know that we pre-tape our Thursday shows.'

Lisa Vanderpump has temporarily stepped away from filming the hit reality show Vanderpump Rules as she grieves for her mother Jean Vanderpump, who died unexpectedly on Monday in England, DailyMail.com has learned.

A source close to Lisa, 58, told DailyMail.com: ‘This has hit Lisa very hard and she is shocked by her mother’s sudden death.’

The tragic news follows Lisa's decision to leave The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills franchise after falling out with her cast mates during a difficult season.

Jean Vanderpump, 84, was close to her daughter but lived her life out of the public eye.

‘Lisa has not had an easy past 14 months. In April of 2018 her brother Mark died by suicide rocking her family to its core,' continued the insider.

‘She then had to deal with a tumultuous season on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which ultimately led to her stopping filming and eventually quitting the show as she was tired of being bullied by the other cast members.

‘One thing is for sure with Lisa though, she’s as strong as they come and once she has worked through her grief she will be back running her restaurant empire, focusing on her philanthropic endeavors and filming Vanderpump Rules,’ the source added.

Lisa is expected to fly to London in the coming week to arrange her mother’s funeral.

A representative for Lisa confirmed her mother’s passing to DailyMail.com but said that she was too upset to comment at this time.

Earlier this month, the entrepreneur admitted to DailyMailTV exclusively that she will not be returning to the popular RHOBH franchise after nine seasons.

The acknowledgement came just before Lisa skipped the filming of the RHOBH reunion, the first that she had ever missed.

DailyMailTV asked her at the time: 'Does this factor into what you're going to do next season? Are you coming back to the Housewives?'

'I think they've made it pretty impossible for me to go back frankly,' she finally admitted. 'So ... no.'

'Unfortunately this season in Housewives it just became too much for me, where I was in my life at the time, personal things I was dealing with I did not cope so well,' Vanderpump told DailyMailTV at her new Las Vegas eatery Vanderpump Cocktail Garden last month.

'Unfortunately when I was filming last year I was not in a good place myself mentally,' she added.

She admitted the devastating loss of sibling Mark was too much to handle along with the drama of falling out with the other RHOBH cast mates for her to continue with the show.

Mark died of a suspected overdose on April 30 at his home in England. He was 59.

Lisa said she wished she had taken time off from the reality show after such a shock.

'I just wasn’t as prepared. I found that I couldn’t deal with something that I could normally deal with. So then it just went on and it was accumulative and in the end I just said, "I can’t do this anymore. I just can’t,"' she told Andy Cohen previously on Watch What Happens Live.

The decision came after her co-stars Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Teddi Mellencamp, Lisa Rinna, and Erika Jayne accused the beloved star of leaking negative stories to the press.

The drama began with the PuppyGate debacle when a rescue pup from Vanderpump Dogs adopted by Kemsley ended up in a shelter.

Kemsley claims the dog wasn't a 'fit' for her home and gave it to a friend who in turn gave it to a shelter following a family emergency. It was the second dog Kemsley had adopted and given up.

Most of the cast believed Vanderpump was behind a conspiracy to make Kemsley look bad. Vanderpump has always maintained that she wasn’t involved in any way.

Vanderpump, who has two children Pandora, 33, and Max, 27, with her husband Ken Todd, was born and raised in London before moving to the South of France. She later relocated to Beverly Hills, California, with her family.
