Taylor Swift surprises BFF Todrick Hall as she asks him to be co-executive producer of her new music video in new behind the scenes footage

Taylor Swift is out here just trying to give her friends the recognition they deserve.

In new behind the scenes footage for her new music video You Need to Calm Down, Taylor is seen sharing a sweet moment with her friend Todrick Hall, 34, when she asks him to be co-executive producer on the video.

In true Swift fashion, the 29-year-old hand-delivers a handwritten note asking her friend to take the credit he deserves.

The pop queen is seen in the video walking with the letter wearing yellow sweater and jeans talking about her friend's gracious efforts.

'Todrick is one of those people who are very gracious with his effort and time and he would never ask for credit when he deserves it,' she said. 'He has put so much into this video whether it was casting, or ideas, or fashion, and you know just logistics. He's basically booked half this video.'

So Swift thought there was no better way to say thank you than to give her friend credit for his efforts and ask him to officially co-executive produce.

'He's not hard to find. He's usually very sparkly,' the Grammy artist said with a smile on her face.

And in a room full of drag queens, she handed the card to her friend who read the card allowed, before saying 'Girl yes! Shut up!'

The two hugged it out and Todrick explained to the camera that while he had never been asked to prom -- this is the closest thing!

'Girl, what did that girl just say girl?! Thank you @taylorswift for always going above and beyond and exceeding my expectations of what friendship is! Link to full video in bio! #taydrick,' he shared to Instagram on Thursday.

While the two have been friends for years, it's no surprise Taylor would go the extra mile for her friend.

Before this, the two collaborated in her music video back in 2017 for Look What You Made Me Do in which he was one of her backup dancers.

Back in April, the American Idol alum shared that while his bestie was absent from his birthday celebrations she made up for it in a big way by gifting him homemade cinna-stix and a suit jacket from designer Alexander McQueen.

While he is still taking in the excitement of the video, he doesn't have much longer to celebrate as he's heading off to Broadway. He will be joining the cast of Waitress starring as Ogie from August 20th to September 15th.
