Busy Philipps reveals she dressed as Cher from Clueless for her first acting role as she shares throwback snap from 1996
She rose to fame in the short lived series Freaks and Geeks.
And Busy Philipps has revealed her first acting job was much less glamorous.
In a throwback snap posted to Instagram on Thursday, the 39-year-old revealed she was first cast as a Cher, from Clueless, doll at a Mattel Toy Fair in 1996.

In the snap she wears a matching pink houndsooth outfit the iconic 90's character easily could be seen wearing.
The matching blazer and mini skirt set, paired with a yellow top and her short blonde hair straight down and pinned back with barrettes, Busy is easily mistakable for the character made famous by Alicia Silverstone.
She posed in front of a Clueless toy display with a life size cutout and doll's of the characters.

It was her first paid acting job working for Mattel at their annual Toy Fair as well as their Pre-Toy Fair.
The two-week gig entailed she give sales projects to the toy buyers that attended the fair, all in character as Cher.
'[The Cher role] paid WAY more than my other job, which was as a hostess at California Pizza Kitchen,' she wrote. 'It made me feel like I was really gonna make it as an actress after high school.'

Though she wasn't allowed to take photos inside the event, a fellow actress working the event snuck in a disposable camera, giving them lasting memories and giving busy a piece for good luck
'[A girl] snuck in a disposable camera one day and she and I took pictures when no one was looking,' the mom of two revealed. 'She lived in LA and before the fair was over she gave me a crystal.'
'She said I should bring [the crystal] with me when I moved to LA to bring me good luck. Which I did. I mean. Feels like it worked,' she said.
Busy has been acting since 1999 and has written produced and directed. She is married to producer Marc Silverstein and they share two children, Birdie and Cricket.

The White Chicks actress also remembered a few famous and soon-to-be famous faces making appearances at the toy fair.
'Sharon Stone came through the Toy Fair one day and told me she thought I was very talented,' she wrote. 'A tiny Rumor Willis came to the Toy Fair with her mom that year and she and I just realized it like two years ago.'
Busy's latest project, her talk show Busy Tonight, was recently cancelled by E! but she revealed last week that she is still taking meeting for the show and hopes to get it back on the air.
But the star wants to make sure the next network is 'the right place.'
