Watch What Happens Live: Bethenny Frankel explains epic rant on Real Housewives Of New York City

Bethenny Frankel shared what was going on inside her head during last week's epic rant against Luann de Lesseps when she dropped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday.

On an episode of The Real Housewives Of New York City, she had finally gotten fed up with the 'insufferable' de Lessep's self-absorption, lashing into her with fury over dinner with castmates at an upscale Miami restaurant.

'It was an explosion and a reaction to many things, obviously,' Frankel, 48, admitted. 'No one acts like that in any restaurant, no matter what's happened...But there was something in her that just really triggered me.'

'I mean, you've seen it before with her, with me, there's something that happens where I'm saying, ''Why are you saying you invented the Skinnygirl Margarita?'',' Frankel said.

'I just—I had had it.'

Frankel explained that she had also spent three days assisting de Lesseps, 54, in finding rehab and legal help when she was arrested ahead of the last Housewives reunion show.

She'd gotten two lawyers to visit de Lesseps on a Sunday, and her ex-boyfriend Dennis Shields [who died last year at 51] was 'thinking of bailing her out of her $6 million situation.'

'I went all in, I got her rehab paid for,' Frankel said. 'So I just felt like, ''What the hell are you doing? Like, who are you? How are you so not self-aware?'''

It didn't seem to make a difference, she added.

'Even right after that moment, she was like, ''Well I've been going through a lot.'' I don't want to be like ''I've been going through a lot, but I've been through a little bit this year.''

Frankel also was asked what really happened with The View co-host Sunny Hostin, who claimed after that RHONY episode aired that she'd seen that darker side of Bethenny herself—when she yelled at her kids in the Hamptons.

'I don't know,' a mystified Frankel said, claiming she didn't remember the incident at all. 'I think she's been drinking or taking some drugs—I don't know her.'

When she was then asked whether de Lesseps had showed a preference for her friendship by apologizing quickly while she let castmate Dorinda Medley, 54, stew for months after a fight, the Skinnygirl founder pooh-poohed comparisons.

'I think she just wanted to thank me [for my help] properly. It's disproportionate to compare those two things.'

As to whether de Lessep's apology had been sincere, Frankel said: 'I think she's doing the best that she can.'

Frankel equivocated when asked whether she would assist de Lesseps with her recent legal troubles, stemming from probation violations.

'I would do it again if something really bad happened, 'cause I would do that for anybody,' she said. 'But you know, I like this distance from this situation.'

Host Andy Cohen, 51, gleefully brought out de Lessep's new music video for 'Feeling Jovani,' in which he features alongside Atlanta and Beverly Hills Housewives Cynthia Bailey and Lisa Rinna.

As Luann writhed around onscreen in revealing gowns and heavy jewels, Frankel looked horrified and amused.

'First, congrats to Luann,' she said diplomatically, after watching the video. 'What does it mean to feel Jovani? Like, crystal-ish or sequin-ish? You just want to entertain?'

'I think it's euphoric, yes,' Andy offered.

'Well, something gets caught on the mic in the finale,' said Andy, hinting that RHONY castmate Barbara Kavovits, 53, will say something untoward about de Lesseps on the upcoming show.

As drag icon and Wig documentary star Lady Bunny poured drinks in the background, Cohen asked Frankel for her take on Thursday night's episode.

She was asked about prim and proper Tinsley Mortimer's sexy post-dinner dance in front of her castmates in Miami.

'I don't think she's that reserved,' Frankel allowed.

But when talk turned to the death of Bambi, the dog belonging to Mortimer, 43, Frankel 'fessed up that she was confused when she first heard about it—on the upcoming RHONY reunion show, which had been previously shot.

'I thought I was like, stoned or in some alternate reality, or you were talking about something that I had missed a chapter in,' Frankel said, referring to a scene in which Mortimer said she was freezing her dog for her funeral.
