Celebrities have access to the finest makeup artists and most sought after personal stylists to ensure they're always polished to perfection.
But down-to-earth presenter Ruth Langsford braved the glare of the camera make-up free on Wednesday - the morning after the famously raucous National Television Awards, no less.
After stunning on the red carpet in a clinging off-the-shoulder red dress, the This Morning star, 57, shared a video clip on Twitter to reveal just how different she looked the following day.
A bare-faced Ruth, who said she hadn't been drinking at the party, nevertheless said she wasn't looking 'pretty' after her big night and was in need of make-up artists' attention.
But her fans disagreed, with many marvelling at how fresh-faced she looked.
Ruth Langsford, 57, took to Twitter on Wednesday to show how she looked makeup free
Ruth had walked the NTA's red carpet in a stunning floor length gown by Kevan Jon that fell off the shoulder.
But the next morning she looked very different wrapped up in a big scarf and cosy cardigan.
She recorded a clip to tell her fans what she really looked like before she got the help of her makeup team.
Ruth captioned the clip: 'This is what I REALLY look like before any ''Glam Squad'' gets hold of me!!!'
The TV presenter had looked stylish on the red carpet at the National Television Awards the night before
In the video the morning TV regular sipped on a coffee as she revealed that she'd had a late night.
Peering down the camera lens, she said: 'I better go and get my face sorted out. That's not pretty.'
Despite her self-deprecating remarks, her Twitter followers left gushing comments about her fresh faced appearance.
One tweeted: 'You still look amazing, Ruth!'
Her loyal Twitter followers said she looked glamorous and many couldn't believe she'd had a night out
'Still look good before glam squad get to you,' another commented.
A third agreed: 'Honestly how do you still manage look that amazing after a night out??'
Ruth also spoke about Loose Women's bad luck at the award ceremony as they lost out to This Morning in the Best Daytime category once again.
She continued: 'Sadly no award for Loose Women but thank you for everybody who voted for us it was brilliant to be nominated.'
Ruth had to be up early to present Loose Women, who missed out on winning an award
She posed on the red carpet with the cast of This Morning, which she hosts on Fridays and during the school holidays
Ruth's husband of eight years Eamonn, meanwhile, has been forced to stay at home instead of accompanying his love, after falling ill.
The presenter shared an Instagram of himself dressed in his loungewear and a robe alongside his glamorous wife Ruth, as he lamented being unwell. He penned alongside his post: 'One of us is off to The #NTA Showbiz Ceremony and the other is staying at home poorly, uncared for abandoned, coughing endlessly . Can u guess which of us is doing what?'
Ruth, meanwhile, insisted she was 'missing' having her husband with her, as she shared a similar post to her own Instagram page - a short video of her cuddling up to a poorly Eamonn. She said: 'Flying solo at the @officialntas tonight.... @eamonnholmes is too poorly to go. Missing him already ❤️.'
Her husband and co-host Eamonn Holmes couldn't make the NTAs because he was ill but they posed for a picture before Ruth left for the bash
