England manager Phil Neville declared on Sunday night that Cameroon had 'shamed' women's football amid scenes more disgraceful than anything he had seen in the game, during the 3-0 win which sent his players into the World Cup quarter final. Neville said that the opposition's stamping, spitting and refusal to re-start play after two VAR decisions went against them had left him 'completely and utterly ashamed' for the image created for women's football at a time of optimum profile. As FIFA launched an investigation into Cameroon's behaviour, Neville said: 'We've had seven million people watching us playing an international game against Cameroon with that behaviour.

The 19-year-old wonderkid took Portugal's Primeira Liga by storm last season, scoring 15 goals and producing seven assists as Benfica lifted the title ahead of Porto. The forward's exciting form had paid off and he was immediately linked with sensational summer transfers to some of Europe's biggest giants, including Manchester City, United and Real Madrid. England Lionesses put Cameroon controversy behind them as Lucy Bronze and Leah Williamson turn focus to Women's World Cup quarter-finals
England's World Cup stars have put Sunday's controversial win over Cameroon behind them as they turn their attention to their upcoming quarter-final. Phil Neville's side reached the last-eight with a 3-0 win in Valenciennes - a victory marred by Cameroon players stamping, spitting and even refusing to re-start play after two VAR decisions went against them. FIFA have launched an investigation into Cameroon's behaviour, which Neville said had 'shamed' women's football.
England star Duggan looks disgusted as she accuses Cameroon's Ejangue of SPITTING on her during World Cup tie
England fans were left outraged after seeing Cameroon's Augustine Ejangue spit on Toni Duggan during Sunday's World Cup last-16 showdown. The incident took place in the 13th minute as the referee awarded the Lionesses an indirect free-kick on the edge of the six-yard box following a back-pass from Aurelle Awona. Cameroon were not happy with the decision and Ejangue proceeded to let herself down with an unsavoury moment.

MIKE DICKSON AT QUEEN'S: Things could not have gone much worse for Andy Murray in the past two years, but in the past few days they could hardly have gone better. In harness with 37 year-old Feliciano Lopez he is a winner again on the ATP Tour at Queen's Club, not in the style he is accustomed to, but it was a sweet sensation nonetheless. To add to his five singles titles here there is a doubles trophy after he and the Spaniard defeated Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram 7-6 5-7 10-5 to take the Fever Tree Championships.
Aguero and Martinez seal Messi and Co's progression to Copa America quarter-finals as they bounce back from recent blips
QATAR 0-2 ARGENTINA: After picking up just one point from their opening two games, Lionel Messi and Co needed victory and that exactly happened, with Lautaro Martinez getting Argentina off to the perfect start. Martinez capitalised on sloppy Qatar defending before toe-poking home into the bottom corner to gift Argentina all three points. Sergio Aguero wrapped up the victory in the 82nd minute after picking the ball up in midfield and beating two defenders before smashing a low shot into the bottom corner.
Hosts France reach last eight with extra-time winner over Brazil as Henry ensures Marta and Co are dumped out of World Cup
FRANCE 2-1 BRAZIL (AET): France saw off a stubborn Brazil to book their place in the Women's World Cup quarter-finals thanks to Amandine Henry's extra-time winner. After having a goal ruled out by VAR in the first half, Valerie Gauvin opened the scoring on 52 minutes before Thaisa forced the match into extra-time. Henry's intervention means that the hosts will now face either USA or Spain for a place in the semi-finals.
