Ashley Tisdale appears to be on the verge of tears as she hugs her husband Christopher French... before they get tattoo tributes to late dog Maui

She buried her teacup Maltipoo Maui on Saturday.

And Ashley Tisdale, 33, looked near tears when she was spotted hugging her husband Christopher French on a New York sidewalk on Sunday.

The 33-year-old High School Musical actress and her spouse both hid their eyes behind large sunglasses as they embraced in the East Village.

On Tuesday, Ashley posted an Instagram snap revealing that she and Christopher had gotten tattoo tributes to their late dog from the body artist Dragon.

While Ashley had forearm ink reading: 'MAUI,' her spouse of nearly five years had a paw print tattoo applied to his left hand.

Her Insta Story contained photos of herself and Christopher getting their tattoos done, as well as a snap of Maui captioned: 'I miss you.'

Ashley's Instagram provided a window into Maui's funeral this Saturday - a day after the dog died - including the pink casket surrounded by photos.

'She didn't care who I was and what I did, she just loved me unconditionally,' she wrote on Instagram Friday, adding: 'I wasn't ready for this and now I'm broken.'

On Father's Day, Ashley shared an Instagram photo of Christopher cradling Maui at a veterinary hospital 'and being the BEST dog dad out there!!'

Ashley had to leave the hospital that day to be a bridesmaid at the wedding of her best friend Kim Hidalgo and Pretty Little Liars hunk Brant Daugherty.

In a 2009 interview with Animal Fair, Ashley shared that Maui was a birthday gift given to her in Hawaii, which is how she got her name.

'Even people who don’t like dogs all of a sudden love Maui. We call it "Maui Fever,"' she said, gushing that 'Everyone' was susceptible to the craze.

'At first they’re unsure, but then they like fall in love with her. It’s the weirdest thing. How could you not fall in love with this face? I don’t like to keep Maui in my trailer so everyone would want to hold her and take care of her, especially our bodyguard.'

The New Jersey-born actress explained: 'He was this huge, serious guy who always like to scare people, yet he loved Maui and she loved him. So he’d walk around and everyone act like we’re not so scared of you anymore.'

'She's just been there for me, through the good times, the hard times. Definitely through my 20s, she helped get me through it, with all those, you know, lovely exes and dating,' Ashley shared with the Today show last October.

'She's just like the best thing to talk to, and she doesn't cut you off, so it's really nice,' the Charming star quipped.

'I always wanted a dog since I was young, and I always was working from a young age, so I just really didn't have time to have a dog. And so, she just made all my dog dreams come true.'
