Pick a paisley print dress like the Duchess of Cambridge in Ridley London

The Duchess of Cambridge looked the epitome of summer-chic today as she stepped out for a workshop at the Royal Photographic Society, after just being named as the new patron.

The stylish royal donned a pretty Ridley London paisley print dress featuring flutter sleeves and a ruffle hem, which she teamed with a pair of espadrilles by Castaner.

Kate has worn these wedges time and time again and we don't blame her, seeing as they're a total summer staple shoe! She then added some fern earrings by Catherine Zoraida for the perfect finishing touch.

It was announced yesterday that Kate would succeed the Queen as the figurehead for the Royal Photographic Society, which was officially supported by the monarch for 67 years.

The mother-of-three is a keen amateur photographer, and has been widely praised for her portraits of her children, most recently snapping the pictures outside.

While making the visit yesterday, she spoke with Neeve Rees, 15, and Courtney Moon, 14, about choosing subjects for photos, Hello! reported.

During the conversation, the mother of three revealed Prince George and Princess Charlotte are already picking up her much loved hobby.

She said: 'Just look at everything around you. Maybe it's in front of you, or far away but choose your subject and focus on it. Get outside with your camera as well. George and Charlotte love it when we do that.'

The royal also shared her advice for taking photographs outside, advising children to pick their subject carefully and 'focus on it'. Pictured, Kate at the workshop in London yesterday

Hands-on parent Kate became the first member of the royal family to take the first official photographs of a royal baby back in 2015, when she released her snaps of newborn Charlotte in the arms of her big brother Prince George.

Kate has been widely praised for her photographic portraits of her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

She has documented milestones in their life such as birthdays and first days at nursery which have been published to mark the occasions.

Some of the most recent images include pictures of Louis and images of Charlotte, which were released for the children's birthdays.

She previously told FEMAIL: 'No other photographer would be able to capture the same connection she has with her children. There is a real warmth and love that is present in her work.

'She has a natural ability to capture humanity with a great eye for composition and colour.'
