Toni Braxton's niece Lauren Braxton's cause of death is ruled a heroin and fentanyl overdose by Maryland medical examiner
Authorities in Maryland have ruled that Toni Braxton's niece Lauren Braxton died of a heroin and fentanyl overdose.
The Chief Medical Examiner's Office said the results came after officials completed Lauren's autopsy following her death April 29 at 24-years-old, according to E! News.
Officials said that Lauren, whose dad was Toni's brother Michael Conrad Braxton Jr., was unconscious on the floor of the kitchen of her Maryland home after she was seen coherent 10 minutes before by a witness, who called emergency responders to the scene, TMZ reported in April.

Following her death, the Braxons initially asked for 'privacy in this time of sadness and loss' in a statement, though members of the entertainment family would issue individual statements in reaction to the tragic news.
Toni, who was performing in Trinidad and Tobago at the time of her niece's passing, posted a 2016 shot of the pair embracing.
'R.I.P to my amazing niece Lauren "Lo Lo" Braxton,' the singer wrote. 'I'm still in disbelief and so very heartbroken... Love you...always auntie "Te Te."'
