And Matt Lucas was every inch the doting son as he treated his mother Diana to a shopping trip at Chanel and dinner at Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood on Wednesday.
The actor, 45, looked in high spirits for the evening, donning a navy blazer with dark jeans and a crisp white shirt.

Matt has had numerous voice roles recently and will next be seen in the animated family drama series Moominvalley which also stars Taron Egerton, Rosamund Pike and Kate Winslet.
He also starred in the Belgian animated film The Queen's Corgi and was part of the UK voice cast which also featured Julie Walters and Jack Whitehall.
Matt recently discussed his character of Daffyd Thomas from Little Britain, who was known as 'the only gay in the village' on the sketch series.
Speaking on the Richard Herring RHLSTP podcast, the comic, 45, explained that the character - who would wear rubber suits, an earring, and had bleached blonde hair and overly-plucked eyebrows - was meant to be 'a celebration' of gay people.

He said: 'I have had people who had "you are the only gay in the village" said to them and to us it was meant to be a celebration.'
'But people were labelled "the only gay in the village" at school. It was meant as entertainment, not to make young gay people sad.'
He went on: 'I remember thinking there was a greediness to Little Britain and we just wanted to show off as many characters as possible so we played black, white, straight, gay, male, female, tall, short, whatever.
'I am much more sympatico with contemporary approach so I would not play characters of other races now.
'I would say if anyone is listening and is offended, I would happily discuss anything, individual cases.'
