Amazon Studios has released a new teaser trailer for Carnival Row, which offers viewers a glimpse at some of the strange creatures that inhabit this world.

The trailer follows a number of different passenger cars on a moving train, which clearly sets the stage for this Victorian Era world.

The first train car features a number of different men and women enjoying cocktails in Victorian period costumes, while the second car shows this isn't your typical train.

The series is set in what is described as a, 'Victorian fantasy world,' inhabited by 'mythological immigrant creatures.'

The creatures are forbidden to use their wings and fly, or even to love another or live freely in this city. 

The human Rycroft and faerie Stonemoss team up to investigate the grisly murder of a faerie showgirl, which is ultimately the first in a string of killings.

The murders ultimately uncover a monster neither the faeries nor the humans could have imagined.

The eight-episode first season of Carnival Row debuts Friday, August 30 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
