NEW An angry hairdresser assaulted a couple in their 30s for kissing outside a nightclub because doesn't like watching 'old people' make out.  Carly Edwards (pictured), 25, lashed out at the two friends when they became affectionate at the front entrance of Edge Geelong (inset), south-west of Melbourne, on October 24 2018. An agitated Edwards approached the duo, who were touching and kissing, and told them to leave the venue, the Geelong Advertiser reported.

Retired stockman Paddy Moriarty, 70, was just one of the colourful characters in the tiny Northern Territory town of Larrimah when he disappeared without trace 18 months ago. He walked out of the local pub (top right) at dusk on December 16, 2017, got onto his red quad bike with his kelpie cross Kellie and was gone. In his home, 200 metres from the pub, police found his hat (inset), cash and bank cards. A search for the Irish-born retiree around the town, including the rubbish tip (bottom right) revealed no sign of him or the dog. The strange disappearance of Paddy Moriarty is one of 13 mysteries to be featured in a new book by crime writer Justine Ford called Unsolved Australia: Lost Boys, Gone Girls. NEW Peter Crawford found the male marsupial (pictured left) sitting on flooded sink after it turned the taps on at White Cliffs Underground Motel (pictured top right) in far western NSW on Saturday. The kangaroo fell through one of the motel's skylights and surprised guests (pictured bottom right) as it hopped through the hallways. Mr Crawford caught the kangaroo and fixed the broken skylight and wilflife-proofed the roof to prevent future marsupial madness.

The shocking story behind a brain injury that changed Michael Hutchence’s personality and sparked his downwards spiral has been revealed for the first time. His former girlfriend, the supermodel Helena Christensen (pictured bottom right with Hutchence), said the INXS frontman was punched in the face by a taxi driver during a late-night pizza run in Copenhagan in 1992. According to Ms Christensen the punch was so forceful that the singer (pictured top right with Kylie Minogue) fell backwards, smashing his head on the pavement. After the injury Hutchence’s personality changed from ‘joyful, sweet, deep and emotional’ to ‘dark and angry’. Ms Christensen said the incident contributed to the star’s depression and eventual suicide five years later.

A snap sees the fashionable royal as she arrives at a charity dinner in a daring black taffeta dress in 1981 (inset). The black taffeta dress was by Elizabeth and David Emanuel, who would go on to design her wedding dress. 'She had to lean down to get out and this was the first and last time that she exposed that much flesh', photographer Richard Young said.

Of course, nobody expected the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (inset) to renovate their new home, Frogmore Cottage (main), on a shoestring. Zoe Kravitz beamed with delight as she arrived for a pre-wedding dinner in Paris on Friday.  The Big Little Lies star, 30, will tie the knot with Karl Glusman this weekend and hosted a rehearsal dinner at Restaurant Lapérouse in Paris. She put her edgy twist on bridal white by wearing a sparkling beaded mesh dress over a crop top and bike shorts while her groom-to-be wore a blue suit.

A private investigator now earns a living as a 'Coffin Confessor' - gatecrashing funerals at the request of the dead to share on their behalf what they couldn't get off their chest when they were alive. Bill Edgar, from the Gold Coast, started the world-first business last year when he was hired as a private detective by an elderly man who was terminally ill.  While on his death bed, the 79-year-old had one last request for Mr Edgar - to interrupt his own funeral.

Shocking footage has emerged of the terrifying moment a man snatched a taser from police and fired it during a dramatic arrest at a Sydney train station in front of stunned passengers. He has been charged with a string of offences following the incident in Sydney's south-west on Friday afternoon which occurred at Yennora train station. The Kingswood man, 50, was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

Elvis Presley's private life was largely unknown until his former bodyguards spoke out about his sexual appetite and drug taking. Three members of Presley's so-called Memphis Mafia told their story to legendary Australian reporter Steve Dunleavy, who helped them write Elvis: What Happened? The book was published in August 1977, just days before Presley (right, with some of his entourage) died suddenly at home in his Memphis mansion Graceland. Elvis: What Happened? became a publishing sensation, selling millions of copies. Dunleavy died at his Long Island, New York, home aged 81 on Tuesday.

Sophie Turner looked every inch the glamorous bride-to-be as she was joined by her maid of honour Maisie Williams and her famous in-laws for a pre-wedding party at Hôtel La Mirande in Avignon, Provence, France on Friday night. The Game of Thrones star, 23, oozed Hollywood glamour as she wore a stunning red dress and wore a full face of make-up, which included a dark red lipstick and smokey eye-shadow ahead of her nuptials to husband Joe Jonas.  Sophie styled her blonde locks into a glossy blow-dried hairdo swept to one side as she was seen getting into a car to take her to the stunning pre-wedding party venue.

Daniel Tuski Bertrand, 25, was arrested and charged with 4th-degree assault, a misdemeanor offence, after the attack in the Downtown area of Portland, Oregon. The unnamed 44-year-old woman reportedly suffered a broken eye socket in the attack, and later told local news: 'I'm just happy to be alive and to have my eyesight.' Bouncers from the street, where the alleged assault happened on Southwest 2nd avenue and Ankeny Street, shared the footage.Bertrand was charged, and has since been released. Multnomah County District Attorney's Office told KOIN 6 that he is homeless.

Princess Haya Al Hussein (main with Sheikh Maktoum) is believed to have initially sought political asylum in Germany after a diplomat helped her 'escape' from Dubai. It is believed that Germany authorities refused a request from her husband Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Maktoum (bottom left inset, meeting the Queen at Royal Ascot alone) to return his wife to Dubai. She hasn't been seen in public since May 20 and was noticeably absent from last week's Royal Ascot, which she usually attends with her husband. The worrying reports come are reminiscent of the disappearance of Princess Latifa bint Mohammed Al Maktoum (left), one of the Sheikh's children from another wife, who was detained off the coast of India after attempting to flee to America as a political asylum seeker in March last year.

Princeton graduate Thomas 'Tommy' Gilbert Jr. has been found guilty of shooting his father dead in 2015, after the jury rejected his claims of 'mental insanity'. The verdict was confirmed by a Manhattan jury on Friday afternoon, and the 34-year-old now faces 25 years to life in prison, on account of his second-degree murder charge. Gilbert shot his father, Thomas Sr., in the head at his Upper East Side Home in 2015 after telling his mother to go out to fetch him a sandwich and a Coke.

Hours after the dramatic Friday morning arrest (top, bottom right) of Ayoola Adisa Ajayi, 31, for the murder of Mackenzie Lueck (bottom right) cops said that they had located the mattress (inset) missing from the suspect's home and considered key evidence. Meanwhile, contractor Brian Wolf says that Ajayi reached out to him in April and asked him to build a 'soundproof' room in the basement of his Salt Lake City home. Ajayi first proposed that Wolf build a 'secret door' to a space that was about four feet by nine feet, the contractor said. But Wolf says that Ajayi 'slowly started sidestepping into more stuff, like wanting a thumb lock on it with a fingerprint lock, and soundproofing it, and putting hooks in the concrete - it was just weird what he was asking me.'

Twitter user Theodore Gussie shared examples of the funny tactic to the social media platform on Wednesday, June 26. The Chicago-based user wrote: 'Sometimes when my girl makes me mad I upload pictures with her forehead edited to be slightly bigger'. He accompanied the tweet with a photo that he had edited to make his girlfriend Adilene Venegas' forehead appear larger than normal. Since he shared the tweet, it has gone viral, garnering over 260,000 likes.

Parents Theodora and Epimenio (right) were given terrible news at the 13-week scan for their twin girls Jenessa and Genesis (right). Chicago doctors had spotted a teratoma, a benign but fast-growing tumor, on Jenessa's neck (pictured, left, after delivery). It threatened to suffocate Jenessa, and there was a risk Genesis would grow one too. At 29 weeks, they performed a C-section, first making a smaller incision to get a breathing tube and an IV attached to Jenessa so she would stay alive. Then they delivered her and whisked her off to surgery as Genesis was delivered.

A public auction of Oleg Cassini's estate in Long Island, New York reveals a treasure trove of personal mementos, never before seen photos, fashion sketches and intimate letters from the notorious playboy who is credited with with creating Jackie Kennedy's 'look' during the Camelot years when he was employed as her personal couturier. Cassini came to America in 1939 as a penniless Russian aristocrat before he propelled himself into society's most exclusive circles; once married to Gene Tierney and briefly engaged to Grace Kelly (top right). He became most infamous for his reputation as an international polo playing Lothario who had liaisons with Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable and Lana Turner.

New ITV documentary Inside The Ritz Hotel reveals the secrets of the historic hotel - including how the staff only remove their white gloves for royalty. Head concierge Michael De Cozar, left, has been at the hotel for almost five decades. A bride's big, choreographed wedding dance stunt nearly ended in tears due to her father's over enthusiasm for his role. Like many contemporary brides, Samara Fraker decided to entertain guests at her January wedding in San Antonio, Texas, by choreographing a special dance with her father. Part of the routine involved the famous run-and-lift scene from the movie Dirty Dancing, but, as Fraker told Storyful , because she was too heavy for her dad to hoist up into the air above his head, she decided to have one of her flower girls take on the stunt instead. A guest's video captured the moment when what should have been the highlight of the daddy-daughter dance wound up going horribly pear-shaped.

Bone-chilling images of Clarence Dally's hands (left) reveal the horrific damage Thomas Edison's young assistant sustained while helping the inventor experiment with X-rays. Dally would spend hours a day with his hands under X-ray tubes as Edison developed the fluoroscope (right), exposing himself to over 1,000 times more radiation at a time than the modern X-ray machine emits. Dally developed carcinoma and had to have both of his arms amputated before his death at age 39. Today, our understanding of X-rays dangers help keep patients safe. But his assistant's death chilled Edison, who gave up experimenting with the technology and said, 'don't talk to me about X-rays, I am afraid of them.'
