Renee Zellweger transforms into Judy Garland in the first full-length trailer for the biopic about the Wizard Of Oz actress during her 1968 concert

The first full-length trailer for the film Judy was shared on Monday. 

Renee Zellweger is seen as singing sensation Judy Garland in the winter of 1968 following the icon's arriving to London for five weeks full of sold-out performances. 

The highly anticipated film will be in theaters on September 27.

The movie will be be set 30 years after the famous film The Wizard of Oz, in which she starred as Dorothy, as she prepares for a number of performances while also also focusing on a blossoming romance with her then soon-to-be fifth husband, Mickey Deans played by Finn Wittrock.

The trailer begin with her being denied from a hotel over non sufficient funds. She then pops pills in a car as she rides with her two children. The star is then told that she is not a fit parent.

At a party she takes a drink and is told that she is more incredible than Frank Sinatra.

Judy complains to a friend that she doesn't have a home and she doesn't have a manager. He tells her to go to London where she can make a fortune.

Judy had to leave her children at home whole she works in London which distresses her as she is seen crumbling back stage before a performance.

But it turns out she's a hit in London.

She misses misses the kids and is seen breaking down in tears over it. When asked what she takes for depression she said, 'Four husbands.'

'I want what everybody wants, I just seem to have a harder time getting it,' says Judy who can't understand her bad luck. 

Zellweger is riveting as Garland as she shows the star as vulnerable as well as funny and engaging.

At the time she was known as 'the world's greatest entertainer.' 

The film is directed by Rupert Goold and also star Michael Gambon, Rufus Sewell, and Gemma-Leah Devereux.

In 1969 at the age of 47, she died of an accidental drug overdose following her struggles with depression. 

She had three kids, Liza Minnelli, 73, who she shared with Vincente Minnelli. She also shared Lorna Luft, 66, and Joey Luft, 64, with Sidney Luft.

In May, the actress spoke about the role while on the red carpet for her Netflix show, What If.

She said the movie became 'a research project, really, and a love affair,' she said to USA Today.

'My intentions were to celebrate and adore her in this work.'
