Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren will return for Fast & Furious 9, Vin Diesel reveals in Instagram video
They're back.
On Monday Vin Diesel shared an Instagram video as he revealed that Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren will reprise their roles for Fast & Furious 9.
Both actresses’ characters were introduced in 2017’s Fate Of The Furious, aka F&F8.

Also back: Helen Mirren. a fan of the franshise, will return as Magdalene Shaw, the mother of Deckard (Jason Statham) and Owen (Luke Evans)
Charlize, 43, played cyberterrorist Cipher who forced Vin’s Dom to betray his street family and work for her.
Helen played Magdalene Shaw, the mother of Deckard (Jason Statham) and Owen (Luke Evans).

The 73-year-old, a self-proclaimed franchise fan, will also be seen as Magdalene in spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson, 47, and Jason Statham, 51, due out on August 2.
The two actors appear to be sitting out F&F9 but John Cena, whose role is under wraps, is joining the cast along with regulars Finn Cole, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris.

Justin Lin (F&F6) returns to direct the ninth action thriller, which is currently shooting in London and is due to open on May 22.
Vin, 51, produces for his One Race Films alongside Samantha Vincent, and Justin produces for his Perfect Storm Entertainment.
Jeffrey Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth also will produce for Roth/Kirschenbaum Films.
Vin has produced the five highest-grossing films in the franchise, according to Deadline.
They are The Fate Of The Furious, Furious 7, Fast & Furious 6, Fast Five as well as Fast & Furious.
The entire action series has racked up more than $5.1 billion at the worldwide box office.
