Abby Lee Miller has criticized American Airlines after she fell to the ground in Pittsburgh International Airport on Monday.

The Dance Moms star – who in May announced she's won her battle with a rare form of cancer and one day hoped to walk again – shared a picture on Instagram that shows her on the floor and clutching to her wheelchair.

'Help! "I've fallen and I can't get up" isn't that the truth? Let's just say my transfer from the aisle chair [sic] to my own chair didn't go so well!' the TV star captioned the image.

As Miller, 52, shared the photograph with 3.7million followers on the social media platform, she noted that staff in the Pennsylvania airport might have saved her some embarrassment.

Miller said the American Airline staff were initially unhelpful but others at the airport stepped up in their place.

'The move should've happened on the bridge like usual and not in front of a hundred ppl waiting to board, I shouldn't have had to ask for someone to call the paramedics and maybe the @americanair Gate Mgr should've at the very least asked if I was ok?' Miller continued. 'Thank you to all the Pgh international Airport Escorts that were so very kind & the hot firemen who swiftly got me on my feet, into my chair & on my way!!!'

But Miller's spirits appeared to pick up on Tuesday when she shared in her Instagram Stories that United was doing a better job on her later flight.

'So United didn't break me thank goodness...' she told her followers after a post where she declared she was 'leaving on a jet plane'.

'The United employee was wonderful to me. She's having it fixed!' Miller posted alongside a picture of a staff member.

Miller was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, in April 2018 and has been cancer-free for the past six months.

She has been seen out and about in her electric wheelchair. Miller has even been back in the dance studio and said in April this year that she should be able to walk again by July.

AA indicated the incident involved a contractor.

American Airlines told DailyMail.com in a statement on Tuesday: 'We are concerned by the issues raised by Ms. Miller regarding her recent experience at Pittsburgh International Airport and are working with our contracted special assistance vendor to review the incident.

'We have been in touch with Ms. Miller to learn more and to apologize for her experience.'
