August Alsina revealed on Monday that he had to be hospitalized after losing the ability to walk due to his autoimmune disease. 

The 26-year-old No Love singer shared a video of himself lying in a hospital bed. 

'Hi guys, it's August. As you can probably tell, I'm in the hospital. So, here's the stitch: I woke up one day and wasn't able to walk,' he tells his fans in the clip. 

'I couldn't feel my legs and my doctor ended up admitting me into the hospital,' he continued.

Alsina then revealed that doctors have been running a series of tests and have found that he has 'some nerve damage' throughout his body. 

'It's like my immune system went on vacation. So, I'm just waiting on it to come back and we can get together and it can do what it do, man,' Alsina said.

Alsina, who appeared to be in good spirits, then made a joke about his 'new car'.

He was referring to his hospital walker, which he also showed his fans.

'It's getting me from point A to point B, you understand me!' he joked. 

The singer was scheduled to appear at the annual Essence Festival in New Orleans over the weekend. 

But he explained: 'My autoimmune disease is raging, but I'm fighting this thing & on my mission to shake back & be able to make it up to you! 

'I take my career & your time very seriously & the fact that you guys show up for me, endlessly. Means the world! I'm man down right now, & figured I should share.'

Although Alsina he has not revealed the name of his illness, he did say it is hereditary.

Witnesses said the star was unconscious when security guards moved him backstage after his fall.

'So I have this eye disease.. Blind in my left, and losing vision in my right,' he shared on Instagram at the time. 

'In order to prevent my eyesight from deteriorating I had to do this surgery. 

'A lot of things that are so natural to us in life (like waking up and being able to see) we can take it for granted. Thank God the OG for allowing me to see.. The good the bad the ugly, I'm just glad to see,' he said.

Alsina, who won the Best New Artist at the BET Awards in 2014, left New Orleans with his mother after Hurricane Katrina hit.
