Miley Cyrus' sister Brandi revealed the pop star was left terrified when their family plane nearly crashed twice ahead of the singer's Glastonbury performance.

During Your Favorite Thing Podcast with co-host Wells Adams, Brandi recalled the chilling incident when the Nothing Breaks Like A Heart hitmaker 'really lost it' as the plane nearly crash landed.

Brandi, 32, replayed the moment she let Miley, 26, clamber into her lap where she sought comfort while their mum Tish was crying her eyes out in the aisle next to them.

'It was really crazy. If I didn't have to be the strong person in the group, I would have been scared but my mom and Miley were really losing it. It was pretty insane.' She said in the podcast.

'Miley's in my lap, my mom's holding my hand across the aisle and nobody is telling us what's going on.'

Brandi told of her horror when the flight was plunged into chaos as the plane nearly crashed for a second time.

The terrifying incidents took place within the space of ten minutes.

She elaborated: 'After 10 minutes of circulating us around, they go back to land again—same frickin thing happens! My mom starts crying and goes, "If we die, Noah is alone" and freaking out. I'm trying to hold it together for everybody.'

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker was joined by her family, her management and her band on the flight to the UK for the Glastonbury Festival.

Miley was relieved to be able to carry on her Glastonbury Festival stage stint as planned later on as she made her debut on the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday.

The singer played alongside special guests Mark Ronson, Lil Nas X and her father Billy Ray Cyrus during the event.

Recently, Mark revealed it took him four years to convince Miley to record a song for him in an interview with The Daily Telegraph

'I was four years blowing up her phone,' Mark said.

After receiving no response, he discovered that Miley was a fan of Australian rock band Tame Impala led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker.

'I knew she liked Tame Impala and when [Kevin] would come into town and we'd be working, I would try to use Kevin as a carrot,' he revealed.

'I'd message her [saying], "Hey, I'm in here with Kevin Parker if you'd like to come down".'

Miley finally decided to collaborate on Nothing Breaks Like A Heart when Mark sent a sample of the song co-written Ilsey Juber.

The song was eventually released in December and proved to be a success, reaching the top 10 in several global singles charts.
