Amber Portwood threatened to kill herself amid alleged domestic battery attack on boyfriend Andrew Glennon with their one-year-old son present
Amber Portwood swallowed a handful of powerful pills as she threatened to kill herself amid an outburst toward boyfriend Andrew Glennon that led to her arrest in connection with three domestic violence felonies Friday.
The revelation came Wednesday as Glennon was issued a restraining order at Indianapolis, Indiana's Marion Superior Court for Portwood to keep away from her boyfriend and their one-year-old son James, stemming from her alleged actions on July 5, TMZ reported.
The 28-year-old reality star 'took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing' amid her violent meltdown, according to the affidavit for probable cause in the case, as reported by The Ashley's Reality Roundup.

The Teen Mom OG star, TMZ reported Tuesday, was taken into custody at her Indianapolis residence Friday in connection with domestic battery, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and domestic battery in the presence of a child, as James was on hand amid the row.
Glennon told authorities that Portwood 'became visibly upset and ... then threatened to kill herself' before she 'went to her drawer and took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing.'
Glennon said that when he informed Portwood he would seek immediate medical help for her, she upchucked to remove the drugs from her system.
Following that, Glennon claimed 'Portwood picked up a machete towards him and' the child, 'hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle,' at which time he notified the authorities.

Glennon told authorities, according to the affidavit, that Portwood was mad at him that he hadn't properly planned for traffic amid a planned family trip (that did not happen) to watch Independence Day fireworks from the nearby Geist Bridge.
According to the affidavit, Glennon said he left the home with the child in hopes Portwood could calm down, but she was incensed when he returned.
Portwood 'grabbed a shoe off the shoe rack and hit [Glennon] with it' as he held the child. Glennon left with the child for about three hours, calling Portwood 'to gauge where she was at mentally and if things had cooled down,' later coming home with a gift and a meal for her in tow.

Past troubles: The MTV personality had had previous troubles with domestic violence, pleading guilty to a pair of battery charges in June of 2011
Glennon said when he returned, Portwood 'was coming at him like she was going to hit him' as the child cried.
When a police officer got to the scene, Portwood 'started yelling at the officer,' the affidavit stated, later denying the allegations about the pills and the machete in her account to officers, but admitting to striking him, leading to her arrest.
The mom-of-two also shares daughter Leah, 10, with ex Gary Shirley, who she attacked in a 2009 Teen Mom clip in front of the child, who was one at the time.
Portwood was subsequently arrested in November 2010 in connection with domestic violence over the televised attack, and pleaded guilty to a pair of domestic battery charges in connection with the incident in June of 2011.
