It came up back a minute before Trump was due to begin his remarks, saving the brand from the president's wrath during his remarks at the East Room event. Representatives from Twitter, Facebook and Google were not invited to the White House event that was overshadowed earlier in the week by a decision to invite, and then disinvite, a conservative political cartoonist accused of using an anti-Semitic trope.

Surveillance footage captured the moment the taxi plowed into the Westville on 9th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen on Thursday at around 12.30. Eight people suffered minor injuries but none were seriously hurt. Miraculously, a man who was hit by the car as it hit the restaurant was not hurt. The driver said someone else rear-ended him and that is why he lost control.

Conservative pundits and Christian activists are claiming Christian soccer player Jaelene Hinkle was left off the 2019 U.S. Women's World Cup roster over her political and religious beliefs. On Monday, evangelical blogger Erick Erickson claimed former national team fullback Jaelene Hinkle was 'shoved aside' for the 2019 World Cup roster over 'feminist virtue signalling.' Hinkle has been vocal about her Christian beliefs in the past, once refusing to play in 2017 because the team was wearing jerseys with rainbow-colored numbers during Gay Pride Month. The reasoning behind the decision was not revealed until an interview with the 700 Club in May of 2018.

Human remains have been found buried at a rural Kentucky property in the search for mother-of-four Savannah Spurlock who vanished after leaving a bar with three men six months ago - as police reveal they have now arrested one of the persons of interest. David Sparks, 23, was arrested early Thursday morning after the remains were uncovered on the property in Garrard County where he lives with his parents. He was charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. Sparks is believed to be one of the three men last seen with the 23-year-old mother-of-four when surveillance video showed her leaving a bar in Lexington on January 4. Police said Spurlock - who had given birth to twins in December - was driven to the rural home some 40 miles away after leaving the bar. It was her last known location and she has not been seen since. Authorities had searched the home in the early days of their investigation.

Amateur sleuths are particularly intrigued by the medieval-style lock on the front of the temple, which appears to be designed to keep people in.

Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for at least 8,000 people in parts of Louisiana ahead of a Tropical Storm Barry that could turn into a hurricane by the weekend. As of Thursday morning, the storm was still brewing in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm hasn't become a depression yet. The disturbance, which had already dumped as much as 8 inches of rain in just three hours over parts of metro New Orleans, was forecast to strengthen into a tropical depression by Thursday and then a tropical storm called Barry Thursday night. New Orleans officials warned that the potential hurricane could bring a coastal storm surge into the mouth of the Mississippi River capable of raising the river's height to 20 feet above sea level - the highest crest in more than 90 years and high enough to overflow some sections of the levee system protecting the city. Louisiana Gov Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency on Wednesday. 'The storm system will likely produce storm surge, hurricane force winds,' he said at a news conference. 'No one should take this storm lightly.' National Guard troops are in place across the state, the governor said.

Kevin Diaby, 20, of Harlem, New York, received multiple stitches to close a large cut above his right eye Tuesday evening after a New York Police officer pinned him to the ground and punched his head into the concrete multiple times, leaving him laying in a pool of his own blood.

Wendy, 54, was talking about Meghan's controversial Wimbledon photo ban on Wednesday when she shared that the former actress once tried to work for her (left). The talk show host recalled how the royal came to the show to be one of their models before she met Prince Harry (right), saying: 'Meghan knows "Wendy Show."' This wasn't the first time Wendy has referenced Meghan's attempt to work for her before her acting career took off. In February, she was interviewing actress AnnaLynne McCord when she mentioned that the Duchess of Sussex had applied for a job on the show. Wendy previously stated that she thinks Meghan is a 'wild card' because she once worked as a 'Deal or No Deal' girl. Nancy Pelosi on Thursday dismissed a charge from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez she is racist and claimed the young lawmaker took offense because the speaker dressed down one of New York Democrat's staff for a tweet that essentially referred to some Democratic lawmakers as segregationists. Pelosi defended her scolding of Ocasio-Cortez and her 'squad' during a closed-door meeting with lawmakers in the Capitol and said she was doing her job as leader of the party.  'They took offense because I addressed, at the request of my members, an offensive tweet that came out of one of the member's offices that referenced our Blue Dogs and our New Dems essentially as segregationists. Our members took offense at that. I addressed that. How they're interpreting and carrying it to another place is up to them. But I'm not going to be discussing it any further,' she told reporters at her weekly news conference.

Donald Trump's lawyers released a video that showed the then-candidate giving a campaign staffer an innocent kiss on the cheek after she filed a lawsuit alleging she received a nonconsensual 'forcible' kiss from Trump. The video shows the former 2016 staffer, Alva Johnson, lauding Trump, telling him that she left her family for eight months to be able to campaign for him, and said they were going to get him into the White House. Trump then took her by the shoulders and gave her a peck on the cheek and thanked her for the work she did for the campaign.

The human rights lawyer was speaking along with British foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt at a media freedom conference, who also criticized the president. 'The country of James Madison has a leader today who vilifies the media, making honest journalists all over the world more vulnerable to abuse,' Clooney said. She returned to the conference on Thursday.

Another customer videoed the heated exchange as the Spanish-speaking manager told the two women to leave his restaurant in Eustis, 40 miles north of Orlando. 'Go back to Mexico if you want to keep speaking Spanish,' one of the woman is heard to say from her seat after overhearing manager Ricardo Castillo speaking in Spanish with an employee. 'Guess what ma'am? I'm not Mexican,' said Castillo, who is of Puerto Rican descent. 'You're being prejudiced and I want you out of my restaurant right now.' v

Tom popped the big question in December and now, TMZ reported on Thursday that the lovebirds previously obtained a marriage certificate.

On Wednesday Alabama police arrested Kendrick Omar Hill, 30, for posting a video of himself tying a man he kidnapped to a chair, berating him, and setting a fire on the ground underneath him. He posted the clip on social media on Tuesday, leading cops to rush to the scene and rescue the victim. Hill was arrested the follow day and charged with kidnapping, attempted assault and attempting to flee law enforcement. In the profane clip Hill claims the victim owes him money and he's willing to go to jail over it.

The Komsomolets submarine sank off Norway's Bear Island in 1989 after a fire onboard - killing 43 out of the 69-strong crew. Scientists from Norway's Institute of Marine Research said they discovered radiation levels 800,000 times the normal rate near the wreckage which is currently at a depth of 5,577 feet. Marc Veyrat, 69 (left), is so angry about the demotion that he has now asked that his restaurant La Maison des Bois (right), which overlooks Mont Blanc, is removed from the prestigious publication altogether. The unidentified woman, right and inset, appeared to stop at traffic lights smoking a cigarette when an infatuated man, left, climbed on her car. The woman then drove off when the lights turned green- still smoking her cigarette as she calmly drove on. The man holds on to the top of the car bonnet and lifts his legs up to keep on the car, as the woman appears to brake sharply as a way to get him off. He clings on as the woman drives round the city of St Petersburg, Russia, and stayed on the car for almost two minutes as she drove off.

Santana Doe, from South Chicago, filmed himself hanging onto the truck as it sped down the Dan Ryan Expressway on Tuesday. Another clip shows Doe dancing on the back of the truck and was filmed by a passenger of another video. The truck appears to be going at roughly 50mph. The Illinois State Police explained to DailyMail.com that they are investigating the incident.

The heaviest average rainfall to lash a swathe of southern and eastern China in more than half a century brought torrential rain and floods that destroyed houses, damaged crops and forced the evacuation of nearly 80,000 people, state media said. Even more rain is expected, state broadcaster CCTV said today, after average rainfall in the affected areas this week was recorded as 51 per cent higher than in the corresponding periods of previous years, and the largest since 1961. Aerial footage and images released by Xinhua News show rows of half-submerged buildings and flooded streets in some of the worst-hit areas including southeastern Jiangxi province and neighboring Hunan.
