Beyoncé looks fierce in glittering dress at The Lion King premiere and proudly brings along her little cub Blue Ivy (who shines bright too in matching look)

She's one of the biggest names attached to The Lion King, and voices the iconic lioness who urges Simba to take back his throne.

But Beyoncé shared the spotlight as the attended the premiere of the live-action film on Tuesday, and put family first.

The songstress, 37, arrived to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood with her seven-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, holding hands and even wearing matching black skirts.

Beyoncé, who plays Nala in the film, exuded glamour and royalty as she worked the red carpet in an edgy black Alexander McQueen mini dress paired with a sheer, cascading black skirt that put her legs on display.

The sparkling black mini emphasized Beyoncé's curves while flashing some cleavage.

From her elaborate jewelry to her silvery heels, the hit-maker was absolutely dripping in glittering glamour.

She styled her locks into braids, and accentuated her radiant complexion with lip gloss and a smoky coat of eye shadow.

Sparkle like Beyonce wearing Alexander McQueen

The world premiere for The Lion King finally arrived, and Beyonce stole the show with her red carpet look. As did little Blue Ivy, of course.

Mother and daughter wore matching outfits, and don’t they look equally fabulous?

Beyonce is wearing a bespoke crystal embroidered tuxedo dress with an embroidered skirt and crystal pin heel sandals to complete the look, all by Alexander McQueen.

That’s a whole lotta crystals!

But the super star singer, who voices a character in the film, is only to be seen in her best and this is by far THE BEST we’ve ever seen her look.

Sadly, we mere mortals can’t emulate her glittering style as the pieces aren’t available to buy. However, if you’ve got your own event coming up then channel your inner Bey in a similar blazer from the carousel. This Missguided number is a must-have!

Blue Ivy looked like a budding fashionista as she wore a flowing black skirt like her mother, along with a bedazzled jacket, flats, with her hair styled into two buns.

Beyonce smiled from ear-to-ear as she walked the red carpet with her daughter, clearly happy to share the special moment with her youngster.

And certainly Blue Ivy was excited to watch the film, starring her mother as Nala and Donald Glover as Simba.

Simba flees into the jungle and eventually, reunites with his childhood friend Nala, who urges him to return to Pride Lands in order to reclaim his rightful throne.

The original Disney film was released in 1994, and starred Matthew Broderick as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, and Moira Kelly as Nala.

The Lion King: What do the critics think?

Mike Ryan - Uproxx

'Holy smokes, I really loved THE LION KING. I think it’s the most beautiful effects movie I’ve seen. Like next level, the game has changed kind of thing. (For the record I’m agnostic on the original movie and have zero nostalgia for it. Anyway, this movie hooked me.)'

Angie J. Han - Mashable

''The Lion King is exactly as advertised: a beat-for-beat remake of the original. Impressive animation and some ace casting choices (Beyoncé is a spirited Nala, John Oliver is an ideal Zazu) plus that music is still [two thumbs up signs] — but it’s more nostalgic rehash than fresh reimagining.'

Germain Lussier - Gizmodo

'The Lion King is a wonderful adaptation of an iconic classic. It has a few small changes which enhance what was already great and everything else is right on point. The CG can be slightly distracting at times but the emotion quickly covers that. Loved it.'

Adam B. Vary - Buzzfeed

'The Lion King is a landmark *visual* experience. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I think it’s going to change how we look at movies forever. As an *emotional* experience, though…I’ll put it this way: It turns out lions can’t really emote.'

Peter Sciretta - Slash Film

'The Lion King is a breathtaking visual cinematic achievement. I can’t believe this is a CG animated movie. Timon and Pumbaa steal the show. It’s a good Disney remake but was it necessary? Maybe not, but it’s enjoyable and families are gonna love it.'

Steven Weintraub -  Collider

'I've never heard as much clapping during a movie as I did tonight at The Lion King. Was like being at a rock concert. Movie is going to make so much money.'

'I'm entering into Lion King inheriting everything I learned on Jungle Book. There was a tremendous opportunity to retell the story using a new set of tools and technology,' he continued.

Jon had Beyonce, Donald, and Pharrell in the studio to help create their own versions of music from the movie.

'This has been a really incredible experience. I have never seen anything made this way before. The level of care where everybody knows how much it means and everybody's that invested,' he said.

Not only will fans hear Donald and Beyonce sing the classic song Can You Feel The Love Tonight, but the Formation hit-maker has also written a new song for the film.

'There's a song that she performed and wrote in the spirit of the production along with working with Lebo M., who's part of it with Hans Zimmer,' Jon said in an interview with Fandango.

'They were all collaborating with her and helping to bring this new piece of music into a film where there's already a very established musical personality to the piece. So it was nice of them to have them working with her to allow the new song to feel organically a part of the new production.'

The new live-action remake of Disney's The Lion King was beset by criticism online from fans of the original who feared the new life-like beasts couldn't convey the same emotions of the animated original.

But Disney seems to have gotten the last laugh as glowing early reviews flooded Twitter Tuesday night after the film's premiere. Viewers almost unanimously praised the film's life-like visuals, with special mentions for Beyoncé's role as Nala.

'Holy smokes, I really loved THE LION KING,' tweeted Uproxx senior entertainment writer Mike Ryan.

'I think (I think) it’s the most beautiful effects movie I’ve seen. Like next level, the game has changed kind of thing. (For the record I’m agnostic on the original movie and have zero nostalgia for it. Anyway, this movie hooked me.)'

Angie J. Han, deputy entertainment editor for Mashable, said audiences would get what they were hoping for.

Freelance film critic Courtney Howard complimented Beyoncé's new track Spirit, which 'slips right into the existing soundtrack framework easily.'

She also highlighted the movie's connection to the 1994 original, both in the computer-generated animation and the screenplay.

Gizmodo entertainment editor Germain Lussier wrote, 'The Lion King is a wonderful adaptation of an iconic classic.'

Although most posts about the family film were positive on all fronts, some reviewers criticized the choice to make the animals naturalistic, making it much harder for them to convey emotions than cartoon characters with more flexible faces.

'#TheLionKing is a landmark *visual* experience. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I think it’s going to change how we look at movies forever,' wrote BuzzFeed News Senior Film Reporter Adam B. Vary.

'As an *emotional* experience, though…I’ll put it this way: It turns out lions can’t really emote.'

Slash Film editor Peter Sciretta heaped plenty of praise on the remake, though he suggested it wasn't essential.

Those concerns don't seem to have turned off premiere attendees (though many of them were involved in making the film and have a stake in its success).

Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub wrote that he'd never 'heard as much clapping during a movie as I did tonight at #TheLionKing. Was like being at a rock concert. Movie is going to make so much money,' he added.
