Birdman gave the superstar singer the halo-style, cushion-cut yellow diamond ring when he proposed to her in February 2018.

And on Thursday, Toni Braxton told a Jury she is 'heartbroken' that her dazzling $1million engagement ring was amongst the $2.5million worth of precious jewellery stolen from her in November - and remains missing.

The Un-Break My Heart songstress, 51, was testifying in court as a victim in a jewellery theft case when she made the remarks.

A man who works for an aeroplane cleaning company is currently on trial for allegedly stealing $2.5 million worth of jewellery after rifling through a piece of carry-on luggage Toni accidentally left on board after landing in L.A.

According to TMZ, three other employees from the cleaning company claim they were on the Delta jet and saw the incident take place.

They reportedly saw the defendant pilfer Toni's $1 million engagement ring, two pairs of vintage earrings and four incredibly expensive watches, including two Rolex's and a Cartier.

The singer explained to the publication that she removed her engagement ring from her finger for the flight from JFK to LAX because she suffers from Lupus, a systemic autoimmune disease which can cause joints to swell during flights.

Toni also admitted that she simply hopes the thief has "some remorse and turns the ring in."

Although the Louis Vuitton bag which she left on the Delta plane was later found, most of the items were missing from it.

After realising that she had mistakenly left her bag on the plane, Braxton shared on Twitter in November that she found it 'impossible to get any type of assistance from anyone in the company!'

She added: 'Can someone let delta know I’m trying to get in contact w/them?I’ve tried to no avail pls help you’re my favorite airlines.'

The initial plea worked. The airline found the bag but most of the jewellery inside it was missing.

'Whoever BORROWED it...PLEEEASE return it!!!! I promise, no questions asked!' an emotional Braxton shared in a follow-up tweet.

Birdman, 49, gave Toni the dazzling diamond engagement ring when he proposed to her in February 2018, after dating since April 2016.

The couple reconciled earlier this year when he surprised her on stage in January 2019, three weeks after they reportedly called off their engagement.

The songstress welcomed the rapper up on stage during her Atlanta show and gave him a long embrace before leading him backstage while holding his hand.

The Presidential rapper had previously hinted at their split in December when he posted 'It's over...' to his Instagram account, and around the same time Toni deleted all pictures of the music star from her feed.

Birdman, real name Bryan Christopher Williams, later deleted his post and subsequently removed or archived all of his photos and videos leaving fans bemused about their relationship status.

Continuing the social media furore, Toni took to Instagram to share a cryptic post to mark the new year, writing: 'Starting a new chapter isn't alway an easy choice ... but ALWAYS choose to be chosen. Cheers to a new year (sic)"
