As part of the £3 million renovation of their Grade II listed home Frogmore Cottage, which is on the Queen’s Windsor Estate, the 37-year-old Duchess is also claimed to be installing child proof windows and a £50,000 eco-friendly boiler.

The Duchess previously said she follows a plant-based diet during the week, and has reportedly persuaded Prince  Harry to reduce his meat consumption.

However, the couple recently faced criticism for appealing to their Instagram followers to 'protect the planet', days after figures showed carbon emissions from royal travel have doubled.
