Shocking moment a brave British documentary maker is caught up in a violent clash between rival tribes in the Congo - where one man is dragged into the jungle to be 'killed'

Livia Simoka, from London, was shocked by the incident and admitted she was 'naive' about how deep the troubles ran before arriving in Bonguindo, where she stayed for five months with the Mbenejli. England's cricket heroes meet Theresa May at 10 Downing Street

Captain Eoin Morgan and his team are visiting Theresa May in the latest leg of their celebrations just 24 hours after the World Cup final ended in unimaginable drama at Lord's. The Prime Minister, a cricket fan who has compared her political stubbornness to that of former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott, cheerfully held the trophy aloft as the team lined up with their medals. Many of her appearances outside Number 10's black door have been fraught with political crisis - but today she finally had a victory to celebrate. The visit echoes that of England's famously well-refreshed Ashes winners in 2005, who went to see Tony Blair after a boisterous open-top bus parade in Trafalgar Square. This year's heroes will not be allowed such extravagance, with the 2019 Ashes just around the corner, despite growing calls for a parade today.

Revealed: How umpires mistakenly gave England a crucial EXTRA run after New Zealand fielder's throw hit Ben Stokes and went to the boundary during dramatic finale to cricket World Cup

England were mistakenly awarded a crucial extra run during their World Cup victory over New Zealand on Sunday, it emerged today. In a bizarre incident in the final moments of the game, Ben Stokes accidentally deflected the ball to the boundary with his bat as he dived in to make his ground (bottom left), earning England four priceless runs in addition to the two that he and Adil Rashid had completed. However, former international umpire Simon Taufel said only one of those two should have counted, because the two batsmen had not yet crossed when the New Zealand fielder, Martin Guptill, threw the ball. Since the match was tied, the loss of one run could in theory have cost England the trophy. But director of cricket Ashley Giles today played down the significance of the error, suggesting the rest of the game would have turned out differently if England had a different target in mind.

Ben Stokes could be seen walking with no shoes on into the five-star Landmark Hotel in London's Marylebone, less than a mile away from the scene of his triumphant batting at Lord's five hours earlier.

Stokes's father Gerard (pictured with the cricket's mother Deb), who lives in New Zealand, said he had received some 'tongue-in-cheek' comments after the Kiwis were denied in heartbreaking fashion.

His wife Alma (centre), an attractive woman in her early 40s, claimed to have gone to bed early, only to be woken by a noise downstairs. Rushing down she found Francis, who was 25 years her senior, slumped in his chair with blood flowing from his head. She was charged with murder and it looked a clear-cut, if rather curious, case. AOC and her squad may be very irritating, but they're American and to suggest otherwise is

The President posted three extraordinarily offensive tweets about four Democrat Congresswomen known in Washington as 'The Squad'. They are Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna S. Pressley of Massachussets. Their common denominator, other than being young, female, vocal (especially against Trump) and politically left leaning, is that none of them is white. Trump's anger at these women was driven by their undeniable visceral hatred of everything he says and does. They're all super-woke liberals who live, breathe and spew a ferociously politically correct agenda that I too find extremely irritating. But when President Trump tells them all to 'go back' to 'places from which they came', he's inferring that somehow they're not real Americans, or certainly not as American as he is. And that, whichever way you try to spin it, is a racist sentiment.

President Donald Trump says progressive Democrats who don't like the way he's running the country can move somewhere else, as he upped the ante against four Democratic representatives, who are also women of color, that he's been clashing with on Twitter.

007 crews set up base on Scottish estate for Bond 25 shoot

Film crews have set up camp in Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands (pictured main) to shoot scenes for the new James Bond film, taking the character back to his Scottish roots established by creator Ian Fleming. Teams have been seen filming around the Ardverikie estate (inset left and right), prevously used by the BBC for television series Monarch of the Glen, and a temporary 'hotel' has been built that can house around 300 people. The Highlands were previously used to film Bond's ancestral Scottish home in 2012's Skyfall and business chiefs are hoping for a huge financial boost via tourism. Producers will hope for a straightforward shoot following a string of mishaps and delays including Daniel Craig injuring his ankle and an explosion at Pinewood Studios that damaged part of the set.
