Theo Hayez's parents, Laurent Hayez and Viciane Delforged (top right) arrived in Australia last month to join the search for the 18-year-old backpacker who vanished from Byron Bay on May 31. The desperate parents had vowed to continue the search with the help of local volunteers but made the decision to return to home this week to be with Theo's little brother, Lucas (pictured with Theo, centre, and bottom right). Mr Hayez issued an emotional statement on Wednesday saying they are now dedicating their time to their youngest son who 'needs us as much as we need him.' After arriving in Australia, Mr Hayez tearfully fronted cameras as he made a heartbreaking plea to the public to not give up in the search for his son. 'I promised Theo's little brother, Lucas, that I would bring his brother home,' he said. 'Please, help me keep my promise to him.' On Tuesday, Lucas shared a heartfelt photo of his brother's name written in the sand with stones (inset) on Facebook. Theo's girlfriend, Severine Marcotty (far left) had also issued a plea through social media for help finding the missing teen.

Australians can save thousands of dollars a year by avoiding this costly financial error

Australians are losing thousands of dollars every year by getting a personal loan to buy a brand new car. Even the most popular models typically lose about a third of their value after three years through depreciation alone. That is also the time it takes to pay off a personal loan. A Ford Ranger ute (bottom), Australia’s second most popular car, costs $51,640 brand new. Someone getting a personal loan to buy it would be paying $58,676 after three years, or more than $7,000 in interest. Rangers typically lose 31 per cent of their values after three years, which means that by the end of the loan period, it would be worth $35,700.

This was the most sickening moment of your presidency, Mr Trump

The President keeps insisting he's not a racist, and I've repeatedly said that in the 13 years I've known him, I've personally never witnessed him being a racist. But since running for the White House, his inflammatory language has flirted ever closer to crossing the line into overt racism, and now he's crossed that line. Big time. Let's be very unambiguously clear: what happened in North Carolina last night was not just racist-fueled demagoguery but bordered on fascism. There was the President of the United States whipping his supporters into a hyper-animated state of rage about a political opponent because of her ethnicity. Had Trump just focused on Omar's political views, many of which are highly controversial, then his ferocious rhetoric would have been rough, tough but acceptable. Omar, after all, has publicly dedicated herself to being Trump's 'nightmare' and never misses a chance to attack and insult the President. But when the President of the United States stands at a podium in America, and does absolutely nothing as an ugly raucous racist 'SEND HER BACK!' chant about a fellow American fills the air, it's an absolute disgrace.
