Still trying to find a source for this photo. Saw it on a FB friend’s timeline but looking for confirmation. Has anyone seen it elsewhere?

Can I have a source for this picture? I would like to share it on FB but I know conservatives will say it’s fake if I don’t quote a source. (Even then they may say it’s fake.)
-
Great article addressing the facts! Thank you. But it doesn’t have the photo from the tweet. Is that photo from 2014 also or is it current?
-
My mistake. I thought it was in the slideshow. I uploaded the above photo to TinEye image search and got no result.
-
Hmmm. While I think what’s happening at the border right now is terrible, I just can’t share a photo like this with no source. Who knows when and where it is actually from? I won’t contribute to fake news.
-
Hi, I shared it bc when I was detained in McAllen in 2014, I was with boys who were locked up. It wasn’t okay then; it’s not okay now.
-
Jose, I follow you and appreciate your tweets, experience, and work. I am with you here. I’m an ESL teacher and immigrant advocate. I just want a source for the photo.
-
Still looking for it. But my point in sharing it is this: I’ve been outraged for years.

Jose, delete this tweet. If you are a journalist and are posting an unverified photo you are guilty of the same misinformation as Trump and you are giving fodder to the other side.
-
Agreed! We differ in opinions, but we need to have conscious debate on the facts, and not stir up controversy, hatred and outrage with inaccurate or false information!
-
Hi, I am offended by these assumptions and mischarectizations. Especially since I witnessed kids being locked up when I shared a jail cell with little boys in Texas in 2014 when way less people were outraged
-
That's not the point. You cannot post things like this if they are unverifiable. It just make things worse. I'm a nobody, but I'm not interested in junk from any side of the issue. I expect it from the right. I don't want to tolerate this from the left.

Many people have responded with the source info for this pic.And yet,
@joseiswriting still hasn't removed the tweet. That proves he has no desire to promote truth, only to spread discord. - 1 more reply

When does the
@FCC ever fine media that purposely stages & lies to the public? There should be consequences for lying reporters. - 1 more reply

So you have taken a made up photo, for a protest, & used it to stir emotion & outrage. Posting without origin is the same as screaming fire in a theater. you become responsible for the violence & mayham. Verify or say goodbye.pic.twitter.com/Zbym8YE0wp

Wow it's actually really disgusting that someone would do that poor toddler, who clearly doesn't understand what's going on and is in obvious distress, just to score cheap political points/photo ops. And then clueless blue check mark outrage peddlers post it on Twitter. Stunning.
-
You do know children are actually sleeping in cages like animals right? Although this pic is from a protest its still THE REAL situation and Americans are letting this sh*t happen. Y’all need to stop seeing children from other countries as animals & have some humanity.
-
u post this as if it’s somehow a positive thing, if anything that reporter exposed how American are treating children as little adults in a jail, that’s America for u. That’s what America stands for, mistreating children from other countries instead of trying to fix the system
-
I posted to show that they are not sleeping in cages, like animals, as you suggested. They are also not being mistreated. They are receiving better food & medical care than many American citizens. I agree, fix the system.
-
We all saw cages in 2014, knowing Americans what makes u thinks they don’t still exist today? Not to mention the government doesn’t even properly keep track of many of these children.https://twitter.com/jeffmerkley/status/1004182037132136449?s=21 …

You basically just made the case to keep them in the detention centers indefinitely. They go "missing" bc they don't show up to their hearings after they've been released. There's tens of thousands of them. The cost of the man power needed to track that many would be incredible.
