Mike Posner defies expectations and takes his first steps... only days after being bitten by a rattlesnake on his cross-country walking tour

Singer Mike Posner has been recovering from an encounter with a grouchy rattlesnake.

The 31-year-old Cooler Than Me singer thought he wouldn't be able to walk for several weeks, but he's already defying those predictions only days after his Wednesday bite.

He tweeted out a video Saturday showing him taking his first tentative steps toward recovery with the aid of a walker.

Mike's video showed him in a baby blue hospital gown and with the bushy beard he's been growing in the last few years.

He was in the midst of the hospital and accompanied by a nurse who encouraged him and kept him from slouching.

As he inched forward ever so slightly, it was clear even through his hospital-issued sock that his left foot and ankle were swollen up.

'From 24 miles per day to using this walker to get to bathroom. I’m on my way back. Gonna rebuild with patience and equanimity,' he tweeted.

Mike made it clear to the nurse that he was in less pain than previously, though he still winced every time he had to bend his left leg.

Along the way the nurse tried to get him to keep his back straight, as he tried to lean forward with every step of his injured leg to blunt the pain.

'It doesn't hurt as bad. I'm getting better,' he murmured while continuing to shuffle.

At the end of the one-minute video the songwriter had move a couple feet closer to his first goal: the bathroom.

The I Took A Pill In Ibiza hitmaker previously took to Instagram on Wednesday with a video that showed him being wheeled away on a gurney after being air-lifted to the hospital.

He explained on social media that she was bit by a 'baby rattlesnake' during his epic walk across the United States.

In remarkably good spirits, the star flashed the camera a thumbs up as he was wheeled through a hospital by EMTs.

He captioned the video with an unusually upbeat explanation considering the circumstances.

'Whatup doe!!! Crazy day yesterday! I had just crushed 16 miles and was going for 8 more when I got but by a baby rattlesnake!'

'That venom is no joke! I got to the hospital and got the anti-venom in time.'

Mike joked: '[Enjoying] the AC and the nice bed, haven’t had those in a while Hahahaha! Can’t wait to get back on The Walk! KEEP GOING!!!!!!'
