Armie Hammer has called out Marvel Entertainment's billionaire chairman Isaac Perlmutter for being one of President Trump's largest donors.

The actor tweeted about Perlmutter's donations to the Trump campaign on Friday amid calls this week to boycott Equinox and Soul Cycle after it emerged the fitness chain's owner was hosting a fundraiser for the President.

'Hey, while everyone seems to be on this Equinox thing, it might be a good time to mention that one of Trump's largest financial contributors is the chairman of Marvel Entertainment (Isaac Perlmutter)..... jussayin,' Hammer tweeted.

His tweet came on the same day Trump was scheduled to attend the fundraiser hosted by Stephen Ross in the Hamptons.

Perlmutter, who has a net worth of $5.2 billion, and his wife Laura Perlmutter have donated almost $600,000 to Trump's re-election campaign this year alone.

The 76-year-old Marvel chairman, who is known for being reclusive, is a longtime friend of Trump and a Republican supporter.

He made about $1 million in donations to Trump during the 2016 election's primary season. His wife has also made notable donations during Trump's campaigns.

Perlmutter's wife also joined Trump's Presidential Inaugural Committee following the election. The couple is said to have spent Thanksgiving with Trump at Mar-a-Lago that same year.

The studio executive, who snatched Marvel assets out of bankruptcy in 1998 and became CEO in 2005, is rarely ever photographed. He once showed up to the 2008 Iron Man premiere in a disguise to avoid being recognized.

He could not, however, avoid having his photo taken when he met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago in December 2016. Perlmutter was spotted through a window wearing sunglasses.

Hammer has not appeared in any Marvel films but he does regularly post on social media about policy reform, including gun control.

Perlmutter's connection and donations to Trump resurfaced this week following calls to boycott the businesses run by Stephen Ross after it emerged that he was hosting a high-dollar fundraiser at his Southhampton home.

The campaign fundraiser hosted by Ross at his home has tickets costing up to $250,000.

The fundraiser sparked a wave of bad publicity for Ross - a billionaire New York investor who runs the private equity firm Related Companies.

Ross owns SoulCycle, Equinox and the Miami Dolphins.

Some celebrities and activists have vowed to boycott the companies linked to Ross given his support for Trump.

Chrissy Teigen and Billy Eichner were among those to tweet about Equinox and encourage a boycott. MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski vowed never to go back to SoulCycle.

Teigen tweeted: 'the gym is my personal hell but if you're a member of Equinox perhaps it is time to say peace(out)-inox ayyyyy I'm still sick yes but f*** equinox'.

Meanwhile, Eichner posted: 'Hey @Equinox - what's your policy for canceling memberships once a member finds out your owner is enabling racism and mass murder?'

Kenny Stills, a Dolphins wide receiver, also criticized Ross' decision to hold the fundraiser.

He tweeted a screen capture from the website for Ross' anti-racism initiative RISE which says the program 'educates and empowers the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations.'

'You can't have a non-profit with this mission statement then open your doors to Trump,' he tweeted.

Stills later revealed he has been receiving death threats on Twitter following his criticism of Trump.

Ross regularly donates to Republicans - as well as a few Democrats - though he does not appear to have given to Trump in the past, according to FEC records.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Ross defended his decision to hold the fundraiser, noting that he has known Trump for 40 years.

'I always have been an active participant in the democratic process,' Ross said.

'While some prefer to sit outside of the process and criticize, I prefer to engage directly and support the things I deeply care about.'

They're cancelled: He posted to Twitter: 'Hey @Equinox - what’s your policy for canceling memberships once a member finds out your owner is enabling racism and mass murder?'

Boycott: Teigen joined calls for a boycott and tweeted: 'the gym is my personal hell but if you're a member of Equinox perhaps it is time to say peace(out)-inox ayyyyy I'm still sick yes but f*** equinox'
