A White House national security official will tell investigators Tuesday that he listened to Donald Trump's call with Ukraine's new president Volodymr Zelensky (left) and 'did not think it was proper.' The president began his day on Twitter swinging at the man, Alexander Vindman (right), an Army lieutenant colonel who was awarded a Purple Heart in Iraq, saying he had 'never heard of' him but insisting he is a 'Never Trumper.' Vindman is expected to testify in the House impeachment inquiry that he twice raised concerns over the Trump administration's interest in having Ukraine investigate Joe Biden and his son. He will be the first White House official to say he heard the July 25 telephone call between Trump and Zelensky that is at the center of the impeachment inquiry. Vindman does not appear to be the anonymous whistle-blower whose complaint about the call launched a now weeks-long chapter in the impeachment saga. Trump vented that a transcript of the call makes it clear he did nothing wrong, and that Vindman is an unimportant figure who never crossed paths with him.

Prized works of art in a museum near the scene of a California wildfire are safe as the building is fire-resistant with a own million-gallon water tank under its garage.Authorities in Northern California ordered 180,000 residents to flee their homes on Sunday as historic winds fueled a wildfire in the wine country.Flames were seen raging along 405 Freeway near the Getty Center, which displays pre-20th century works of art by artists including Rembrandt and Van Gogh.However fire resistance was built into the billion-dollar complex, Ron Hartwig, vice president of communications for the J. Paul Getty Trust said previously.The buildings also has reinforced concrete walls and automatic fire doors that can trap fires in sealed-off areas, The New York Times reported when previous fires ravaged the area in 2017.There is also a carbon-filtered air condition system which is designed to get rid of smoke and internal sprinklers are ready in the case of a natural or deliberate incident.

Kanye West claims black Americans have been 'brainwashed' into voting for  the Democratic Party despite the fact the party promotes policies that are harmful to them.  The controversial rapper, 42, made the declaration in an explosive interview with radio host Big Boy on Friday while promoting his new Christian-themed album, Jesus Is King.  When asked about his support for President Donald Trump, West explained that he doesn't believe it is smart for black Americans to bloc vote for Democrats, claiming: 'You are quite easily controlled if they know everybody gonna be blue [Democrat]. If you go to a white [person] bar, you gonna hear people talking Independent, you gonna hear people talking Democrat, you gonna hear people talking Republican'. 

At least two houses are said to be on fire after the Cessna 414 came down in Berkley Avenue in Colonia at 11am. Images from the scene show fire crews battling flames on the residential street lined with trees. Officials said there were no reports of injuries on the ground and the plane was occupied by only the pilot. 'It sounded really low, it started to sputter a little bit. ', one eyewitness said, before a 'huge explosion'.

Falcon Heene, now 16, was interviewed by Good Morning America along with his parents, Richard and Mayumi, to commemorate the ten year anniversary of the bizarre stunt. He was six when in 2009, his parents claimed he was trapped inside a homemade helium weather balloon which took off from their yard and drifted for 90 minutes before landing near their home in Fort Collins, Colorado.

A Texas man who has twice been convicted of murdering his pregnant wife could still walk free after his upcoming third trial in a bizarre case that will be featured on this week's episode of 20/20. David Temple was a local high school football star who married his cheerleader girlfriend Belinda after they graduated from Katy High School, where actress Renee Zellweger was also a student. The two seemed to have the perfect relationship until  Temple came home and reported his wife had been shot dead on January 11, 1999. She was eight-months pregnant at the time.

The first photo shows the woman in the red dress kissing her date, who can be seen wearing a shark head (pictured left). However. fast forward a few hours and she can be seen smooching a man in a purple shirt - who is a married father (right).

A Mississippi nurse who went missing five days ago has been found alive in a California national park after rescue helicopters spotted the S.O.S message she had spelled out with rocks.  Mary Joanna Gomez, 56, was found on Monday about 3.5 miles from where she had parked her vehicle in Sequoia National Park. Gomez, who lives in Jackson, was staying in the San Francisco area while on assignment as a traveling nurse.

A toddler has been captured on nanny-camera engaged in an adorable exchange with his beloved pet cat.  The footage was filmed last month in Pickerington, Ohio before it was shared online by the 18-month-old boy's parents.  In the clip, which has now gone viral, the tot is seen sitting in his crib before the kitty pushes through the door to say hello. 

Veteran actor Robert De Niro blamed fans of The Apprentice for 'creating a monster' for buying into Trump's brand. The star of The Godfather Part II, Goodfellas and more recently The Irishman, added that he believes President Trump has 'blood on his hands' over some of the recent mass shootings in America. Speaking to British GQ, De Niro (pictured) said he initially gave Trump (top right) 'the benet of the doubt', but now says the president is 'beyond a horrible person' and a 'low-life' who is 'going to ruin this country'.

Cleveland man, Joseph DeLuca, is facing more than a decade in jail after throwing two cups of scalding hot coffee on a McDonald's drive-thru worker, leaving her with first-degree burns. The 54-year-old can be seen in surveillance footage throwing the freshly-made hot drinks on the female cashier, after she accidentally served him two coffees and asked for one back in the February 19 incident at the Cleveland drive-thru.

A traditional Chinese medicine practitioner has soared to fame after revealing what's underneath her white coat: her incredibly toned muscles. Fitness fanatic Yuan Herong (pictured), 30, started exercising two years ago because she wanted to 'look stronger'. With the simple goal in mind, she hits the gym five times a week come rain or shine, and her gruelling workouts have earned her an unbelievably ripped physique and hundreds of thousands of followers on social media.

Her mom Lynn had fled their abusive dad Franklin before he shot her and himself. Moorer, who was just 14, heard gunshots outside the Frankville, Alabama, home. The murder-suicide was something Moorer and her older sister, Grammy-winning singer Shelby Lynne, together bottom right in 2017, avoided questions about their entire careers. But Moorer's new memoir is set to finally address the family's tragic, dark secrets. She says she will tell her son his grandparents 'were troubled and beautiful'.

Walls of Jericho drummer Dustin Schoenhofer, 41, was arrested in Oregon on October 23 after getting pulled over while transporting 632.5lbs of marijuana and 36.8lbs of suspected butane honey oil extract, also known as hash oil, to Ohio. When questioned about the massive bales of pot packed in black trash bags in the bed of his pickup truck, Schonehofer reportedly told the trooper he didn't know they were in his vehicle.

The former Olympic ski racer's wife Morgan Beck, 32, shared the picture of her growing baby bump on Instagram Monday evening. In the image, it showed the expectant mother at 38 weeks sitting on a couch with her baby bump on display. In the caption, she wrote: '38 weeks with two rebels. Already taking after dad'. The couple first revealed they were pregnant with twins in August. At the time, they also discussed how they were dealing with their grief upon losing their daughter Emeline in a drowning accident.

Jeffrey Langford was taken into custody after police were called to his home in North Salt Lake, Utah, on Saturday. Officers were responding to a call about a woman who had reportedly killed herself. When officers arrived 45-year-old Graciela Holker (right with her son) was found dead. Langford told police his mother had shot herself three times and slit her own throat but was not dead and he 'did not want her to be in pain'. Before cops arrived he posted three Facebook Live videos (left) in which he appeared to be covered in blood, claiming his mother blasted herself 'in the face' with a revolver and that he was 'not going to jail'. The 24-year-old was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, obstruction of justice and a misdemeanor count of carrying a dangerous weapon under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The young woman who confronted Harvey Weinstein at a bar in New York City last week is speaking out in The New York Times . 'Last Wednesday, I walked into a bar to perform stand-up, and noticed Harvey Weinstein sitting in the room,' writes comedian Kelly Bachman. 'I didn't know what to say, but I wanted to say something, so I made a joke that questioned why the event organizers had invited him to the show. Some people booed and one person told me to "shut up."' She then adds: 'I let the room know that I have been raped, and cursed at the monster I wasn't making eye contact with.'

The United States Coast Guard will offloaded a staggering 27,300 pounds of cocaine this week, with a street value of around $367million (£285M) after working alongside Columbia and Costa Rica to seize the drugs. The Seventh District in Florida was also preparing to offload 11,000 pounds of marijuana worth around $10.1million (£8M) at Port Everglades on Monday, part of a haul of contraband captured from 18 separate interdictions. The drugs were seized in international waters around the Caribbean Basin and the Eastern Pacific Ocean off the coasts of Mexico, Central and South America.

Chameleons, salamanders and toads were the inspiration for a new range of soft robots which can carry out automated tasks requiring a range of movements at a fast pace. Industrial and biomedical engineers studied the stored elastic energy the animals use to launch their sticky tongues in order to replicate the fast, non-robotic movement.

A jury awards Nicholaus Mims $800,000 for attack by Six Flags security guards on Father's Day in 2018. Mims and his wife say they feel vindicated for the financial settlement. Nicholaus Mims had claimed in a lawsuit against the water park that he was thrown to the ground and handcuffed by guards while walking to his car on Father's Day in 2018. Mims had been searching for his 12-year-old son, who had gone missing from the water park, when he says he was confronted by the guards. He claims a white female guard called for help as the dispute escalated because he was not permitted to walk in the park bare chested. He said in a lawsuit that the attack was racially motivated and was seeking $10million in damages. Six Flags said they plan to challenge the verdict and request a new trial.

A father-of-five rushed to the aid of his nephew and his nephew's pregnant girlfriend during a robbery attempt and shot dead a teenage suspect in Argentina last week. A home surveillance camera in the city of Longchamps captured the shocking moment when a group of three muggers fired at Claudio Ramón Pardo's nephew, Ezequiel, 27, and his nephew's pregnant girlfriend on Thursday morning. After Ezequiel tossed his car keys and a cellphone over the gate to his assailants, his 46-year-old uncle stepped out of a second-floor door and started firing at the suspects with his handgun. Pardo (main image; top right) was cleared of any wrongdoing by the police.

A Muslim woman has accused a popular Sydney pub of discrimination, claiming she was barred from entering unless she took off her hijab. Soaliha Iqbal was lining up with friends to get into the Paragon Hotel in Circular Quay for dinner after attending a climate change protest in Sydney's CBD on Friday night.  The 21-year-old journalism student alleges a hotel bouncer demanded she take off her hijab without looking at her ID in order to be allowed to enter the premises.

Extraordinary footage has revealed the coronation of King George VI (top) and childhood videos of his daughter Elizabeth - the future Queen - in colour for the first time. The fascinating clips include some taken just after George moved into Buckingham Palace in London in 1937 (bottom), showing him as a happy family man after becoming king. Cameras film the family, including his wife Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and their daughters Princess Margaret, then six, and Princess Elizabeth, then ten. The children are seen feeding ducks and playing with a ball in the videos, from new documentary Britain In Colour which begins on the Smithsonian Channel tonight. George, known as the 'reluctant king' after being crowned following his brother Edward VIII's abdication, called his family 'Us Four' because they were so close-knit.

Tony Harrison, 52, was hired to deal with one of the world's most venomous reptiles - an eastern brown snake - on Saturday in Pimpama, a suburb of the City of Gold Coast in Australia. Video footage shows the creature racing towards Mr Harrison with its head raised, its mouth open and its fangs bared. Mr Harrison said: 'The eastern brown is the second most toxic land animal on the planet. It's responsible for the majority of bites in Australia. If you get bitten and don't go to hospital it would more than likely result in death.'

A starving polar bear who wandered into the Russia city of Norilsk, almost 1,000 miles from its traditional Arctic home, in June (left) has now been nursed back to health at a Russia zoo (right). The bear - now named Martha - drew the world's attention after images of her rifling through the city's garbage dump spread online. She has since been put on a special diet of raw meat, fish and quails and has gained eight stone, but keepers fear she may never be released into the wild because she may have grown up in captivity, meaning she is unafraid of people and likely to get into more trouble.

The dog was found battling to stay afloat in the middle of the Chao Phraya River near Bangkok, Thailand, on the morning of October 23. Resident Piengkamol Kerdsomsri beckoned the dog over and pulled him to safety when she found him in the river. The dog, which Ms Kerdsomsri calls 'Luck', now waits on the edge of the jetty every day, looking out over the water hoping his owner will return - and every time a boat passes by he bounds to the end of the pier expecting to see someone.

CCTV footage shows the car driving on a narrow bridge in Madhya Pradesh, India, before it collides with a red truck. A driver's head pokes out the window as he struggles to get one child out. He then stands on the bonnet as he throws his child towards the bridge. Locals who'd gathered to help attempted to catch his child, but missed by inches as the child bounced off the side of the bridge and fell back into the water. The family was rescued and sent to hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

In what is believed to the highest 'death dive' ever filmed, the man performed the jaw-dropping jump to promote a water sports festival in Moss, Norway. But nothing looked fun about this extreme activity, with the so-called death diver emerging from the sea wincing in agony. Footage filmed by his awestruck friend on the dock below captured the bellyflop from October 16. Death diving - or Dødsing as it's known in Norway - is one of the country's most extreme sports.

WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Two male lions named Jarvis and Tau and two lionesses named Bashi and Tawani were fed poisoned meat and then hacked apart at a nature reserve near Pretoria, South Africa, on Thursday last week. Distraught keepers arrived to find the pride - which had been rescued from an illegal canned hunting farm before being brought to the Rietvlei reserve - with their paws and jaws removed. Police believe the parts will now be used in traditional medicine by witch doctors. Investigators added that the attack appears to be an inside job, carried out by a gang with intimate knowledge of the reserve.
