Not a rainy day in New York! Woody Allen, 83, and Soon-Yi Previn, 49, are spotted for the first time since he settled $68M lawsuit with Amazon where there were 'no winners'

  • Woody Allen, 83, and his wife Soon-Yi Previn, 49, held hands in NYC on Monday
  • Previn is the adopted daughter of Allen's ex Mia Farrow and they coupled in 1992
  • Allen has claimed allegations he molested their daughter Dylan Farrow stem from Mia using Dylan as a pawn during their split in 1992
  • The film director claimed Amazon dropped a four-movie deal over Dylan's unproven allegations and said it was despite them previously knowing about it
  • Amazon claimed the 2017 contact ended because he made inappropriate comments about the #MeToo movement
  • The company agreed that the case where Allen claimed they owed him $68M in guaranteed payments should be dismissed without prejudice in a Friday filing
  • The streamer ended the contract without releasing A Rainy Day in New York

Woody Allen has been spotted for the first time since he settled a $68million lawsuit with Amazon over a dropped four-movie deal he claimed he was owed money for.

The director, 83, was seen walking hand-in-hand with his wife Soon-Yi Previn, 49, in New York City on Monday, chatting away while covering his face with his signature bucket hat.

The filmmaker had sued Amazon in February after the online giant ended his 2017 contract without releasing completed film, A Rainy Day in New York, but sources told Deadline about the settlement: 'There were no winners in this in the end'.

Allen claimed that Amazon owed him $68million in guaranteed payments because the company had backed out of the deal after his daughter with Mia Farrow, Dylan Farrow, brought up her allegations that he had molested her when she was a child.

Allen hasn't faced any legal action stemming from her claim and his lawsuit said that Amazon was aware of the claims when they signed the contract with him.

Amazon had responded that Allen breached the deal by making insensitive remarks about the #MeToo movement.

In papers filed Friday in U.S. District Court, Allen and Amazon agreed that the case should be dismissed without prejudice. Terms were not disclosed.

But on Monday the couple paraded their love through the city the completed movie is based in.

Allen's adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, claimed in 1992 the Oscar winning director sexually abused her at the Connecticut home she shared with her mother, Allen's partner Mia Farrow.  At the time of the alleged abuse, Dylan Farrow was just seven years old.

Allen denies any wrongdoing in the case of Dylan and the allegations have never been proven. He claims Farrow used Dylan as pawn amid their bitter split.

Allen's wife Previn is the adopted daughter of his former partner, Mia Farrow, and musician André Previn.

Previn was 21 when she began a relationship with Allen, who was then 56 years old. The news of their relationship in 1992 shocked the entertainment world and they married 1997.

Dylan Farrow continues to stand by her allegations against Allen, writing a highly-publicized open letter in The New York Times in 2014, reiterating that the abuse took place.

A Rainy Day in New York was released overseas, but not in the U.S.

So far, the movie is said to have grossed nearly $11million in ticket sales abroad, with the bulk of the earnings coming from France, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Some of the the films' actors have said that they regretted working on the movie and that they were donating the money they were paid to various charities tied to the #MeToo movement.

Rebecca Hall said that she was donating her salary to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, while Timothée Chalamet said he was donating his earnings to RAINN, Time’s Up and the LGBT Center in New York.

Selena Gomez was also said to have donated to Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund a sum greater than the amount she was paid to star in the movie. Griffin Newman also said that he would donate his salary from the movie to RAINN.

Allen's career has slowed in recent years, with several actors who had appeared in his films saying they would not work with him again. This includes Ellen Page, Greta Gerwig and Natalie Portman.

But Scarlett Johansson says she has no regrets about working with Allen on three movies in the mid-2000s - Match Point (2005), Scoop (2006) and Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008).

Jeff Goldblum has also said he would work with Woody Allen again, despite allegations the director sexually abused his adopted daughter.

The actor, 67, who had a role in Allen's 1977 movie Annie Hall, told The i: 'I think there is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.'

But Goldblum said he 'enjoyed working with him [Allen] many years ago' and 'admires his body of work'.
