'Can't wait to hold her': Olivia Newton-John's daughter Chloe Lattanzi shares her heartbreak after being forced to spend Mother's Day apart due to COVID-19 restrictions

Chloe Lattanzi has been forced to celebrate Mother's Day apart from her mother Olivia Newton John this year.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, the American-based beauty, 34, will spend the day video-messaging 71-year-old Olivia instead.

'I cannot wait until I can hold her in my arms and squeeze her,' Chloe told 9honey on Saturday, acknowledging it is a 'very hard time' for many families right now.

Chloe continued: 'My mom means so many things to me. She means absolute understanding and true warmth. As I get older, the well grows deeper.

'The older you get, the more you come to appreciate your parents. I love learning more and more about her and how similar we are.'

She added that her mother 'gives her strength' and is her role model in life.

Olivia is currently battling stage-four metastatic breast cancer.

In January, the actress and singer gave fans a health update and revealed that her tumours had shrunk in size.

She told The Sunday Telegraph that using medicinal cannabis and natural remedies in addition to conventional medicine had improved her health.

'My tumours are receding or they're going away or they're staying the same, on a Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer — that's pretty amazing,' she said.

'If I hadn't had the experience I'm having with cannabis I wouldn't be able to talk about it.'

Olivia, who is a longtime advocate of medicinal cannabis, said she was 'proof' the drug was vital in alleviating pain and helping with insomnia.

She has spent years lobbying the Australian government to approve the use of medicinal cannabis for cancer patients.

Olivia was diagnosed with her third bout of cancer in 2017, after she was successfully cured of the disease twice in 1992 and 2013.
