Lady Gaga lands fourth #1 album

Returning with sixth studio album, Chromatica, American pop superstar Lady Gaga takes out her fourth #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart (more below).
 
Cold Chisel’s classic third album East returns to the chart on the back of a reissue to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Released in June 1980, the album peaked at #2 for eight weeks on the Australian charts. It features some of the ARIA Hall Of Fame band’s biggest songs including ‘Cheap Wine’, ‘Choirgirl’ and ‘My Baby’. East is also #2 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart. The band’s The Best Of Cold Chisel: All For You is 13 spots to #28.
 
Scotsman Lewis Capaldi’s debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent moves up eight spots to return to the Top Ten for a third week. Its jump comes on the back of new single ‘Bruises’, which has hit the Singles Chart this week at #46.
 
In its second week in the Top 50, The Seekers’ Hidden Treasures: Volume 1 has climbed up 18 spots to #21.
 
With new single ‘Ur So F**kInG cOoL’ debuting at #49, Tones And I’s The Kids Are Coming – EP has climbed back up to #26.
 
At #40, Powderfinger’s third studio album returns to the Top 50 this week for a 103rd week. It comes after the iconic Brisbane band reunited for the first time in a decade, raising over $450,000 for charities Support Act and Beyond Blue. The first of Powderfinger’s five #1 albums, Internationalist spent one week in the top spot in September 1998.

#1: Lady Gaga ‘Chromatica’ – Lady Gaga debuts at #1 on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart with Chromatica, picking up her fourth chart-topping album in Australia. The American star’s sixth studio album comes four years on from Joanne (#2 Oct. ’16). Between albums she starred in the award-winning A Star Is Born, spending eleven weeks at #1 with the movie’s soundtrack in late-2018/early-2019. Chromatica includes the singles ‘Stupid Love’ (#7 Mar. ’20), ‘Rain On Me’ (#2 Jun. ’20) and ‘Sour Candy’ (#8 Jun. ’20), as well as collaborations with Ariana Grande, Elton John and South Korean girl group Blackpink. Lady Gaga has also hit #1 on the ARIA Charts with the albums The Fame Monster (#1 Apr. ’10) and Born This Way (#1 May ’11).
 
#4: Kip Moore ‘Wild World’ – American country singer-songwriter Kip Moore takes out his second Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart with Wild World. The follow-up to Slowheart (#6 Sept. ’17) is Moore’s fourth studio album. He also charted in late-2018 with the EP Room To Spare: The Acoustic Sessions (#18 Nov. ’18).
 
#9: Kygo ‘Golden Hour’ – Norwegian DJ/producer Kygo returns with third album, Golden Hour. Coming three years on from Kids In Love (#42 Nov. ’17), the album includes the singles ‘Higher Love’ (#20 Jul. ’19) and ‘Lose Somebody’ (#31 Jun. ’20), as well as contributions by OneRepublic, Oh Wonder, Tyga, Zac Brown and more.
