G-Eazy is in 'much better headspace' with latest album after 'toxic' relationship with ex Halsey: 'It's been a real creative breakthrough'

G-Eazy has been at odds with ex-girlfriend Halsey since they broke up back in September of 2018.

And the California-born rapper (whose real name is Gerald Earl Gillum) has recently continued their feud with his latest diss track Had Enough.

He's reportedly in 'a much better headspace' after their 'toxic' relationship, which has sparked a 'creative breakthrough' with his latest album Everything's Strange Here.

A source told Us Weekly of the 31-year-old: 'Their relationship was toxic, especially toward the end. Gerald has a much more positive outlook on life now and has been healing through music.

'He has spent much of the pandemic in his home studio, whether he's writing and recording new songs or just playing around and experimenting. It's been a real creative breakthrough.'

He appeared to throw shade at the 25-year-old in Had Enough, which dropped last week and referenced his 'crazy a** ex.'

G-Eazy sang on the track: 'You drag my name, I don't say s*** / But let somebody say, 'G-Eazy' you go ape s***.'

It's not the first time he's taken aim at Halsey in his music, referencing their 2017 collab Him & I back in October with his song I Wanna Rock.

He sang: 'No limit, all I got is me, myself and I / When I said it's her and I, that s*** was a lie (yup).'

Back in February, Halsey called out a heckler at her pre-Super Bowl performance, who was chanting her ex's name.

She stopped the show and said: 'If you say G-Eazy one more f***ing time, I will kick you out of this party. I will kick your f***ng a** outside this party. Test me. F***ing test me. You wanna get out of the crowd?'

Be kind: The Manic artist later wrote on Instagram: 'I hope to God you never have to experience an abusive relationship. And if you do, I hope the world is kinder to you than you are to me' (pictured in November, 2019)

Halsey has also found inspiration in their turbulent relationship, which sparked her 2018 track Without Me, written while they were still together.

She said on Apple Beats 1 of releasing the song under her real name Ashley Frangipane: 'It's just me. No wig, no colorful hair, no character, and it's about my life and about my relationship that the world has watched so closely and so vehemently in the past year and a half.'

The two-time Grammy nominee also referenced him in her October 2019 Cosmo cover interview: 'But hey, if the worst thing that's happened to me so far is I wore dumb clothes and dated a sh***y dude, I think I'm doing alright.'
