Exciting perspectives for MAZ and Vasilevski

Most experienced driver of the MAZ-SPORT squad, Aleksandr Vasilevski went into the Dakar history books back in 2015 when he became the first Belorussian to finish in the Top 10 in the truck race, an outstanding performance from the man behind the MAZ project. Since then, it’s been a bumpy road for the veteran including a withdrawal in 2016, a two other top 10 spots (6th in 2017 and 8th last year). At 53 years of age, he remains an essential figure of his squad able to compete with the best, including his own team mate and boss Siarhei Viazovich. On the last edition of the Silk Way Rally, he was indeed the closest rival of the Kamaz trucks finishing 6th. Promising before taking on his 9th Dakar alonsgide Dzmitry Vikhrenka and new team member, Vitali Murylev.
