Her long-awaited debut as Princess Diana is just days away.
And Emma Corrin has told of the 'immense pressure' she felt playing the iconic role because the late Royal was so 'adored' and people feel 'ownership' over her.
The actress, 24, spoke about her new role ahead of the series four Netflix release with her co-star and on-screen husband Josh O'Connor on Friday night.

Discussing playing Diana, Emma said: 'There was an immense pressure because she was so adored and because there is this sense from everyone almost of ownership, like they knew her, so I went into it with a huge sense of pressure.'
Playing Diana will be Emma's first leading role and was largely unknown before being cast in the big money franchise ahead of its fourth season where her character will be introduced.

Emma, who is cast alongside Helena Bonham Carter's Princess Margaret, also discussed her first 'fan experience' while visiting the theatre with a friend.
She explained: 'I went to the theatre with Helena Bonham Carter and so many people came up to her and tapped her on the shoulder to say how much they loved her work, and of course nobody knew who I was.

'I then went to the theatre that evening with a friend and a person tapped me on the shoulder and I thought, "Oh my god, this is my moment," but she had only come over to tell me I had a label coming out of my jumper. It was so bad!'
Elsewhere during the chat, Josh - who plays Prince Charles - was asked about whether he thought the royal romance was 'strange', and he argued that he will never really know a true account.
Admitting that was useful for him as an actor, he said: 'I kind of went into it not knowing anything. Ultimately with many of those public marriages there are biased accounts, and you can never really get to the truth – that's quite helpful because we are working in fiction.'

Emma appeared to be channelling her character's 80s fashion sense with a bold ensemble as she appeared on the show.

Meanwhile Josh opted for a cosy cream jumper as he joined Emma on the socially-distanced show, which will air on Friday.

Emma recently admitted she struggled to adjust to her co-star Olivia Colman's 'stone cold horrible' portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II.
She said was shocked with Olivia's transformation from 'a ray of sunshine' into the stoic monarch to film scenes opposite her character.
Emma told Town and Country magazine that she was stunned by Olivia's drastic change into the Queen, given she was so friendly and jovial on set.
She said: 'Obviously, Olivia is the biggest ray of sunshine ever... She just went stone cold horrible. It was so hard to not take it personally.'

Emma added that she still doesn't like being asked about the 'iconic' role as she fears it makes the late Diana 'untouchable'.
'I hate being asked what it's like to play someone iconic. It makes her untouchable—the whole point was that she was touchable,' she added.
The Crown's fourth series will begin as the 1970s are drawing to a close, with the Royal Family preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles who is still unmarried at 30.
