Bryce Dallas Howard dyes her locks pink to mark the end of the Jurassic World franchise as she waves farewell to her character Claire's signature ginger hair

Bryce Dallas Howard has dyed her signature red locks pink to commemorate wrapping up shooting on Jurassic World: Dominion at Pinewood Studios in England.

The American actress, 39, shared a stunning snap of her new look on Instagram on Tuesday after finishing the final film in the popular Jurassic World franchise.

She starred as Claire Dearing in 2015's Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2017, and reprised her role for the grand finale.

Although Bryce is a natural redhead, the star still had to undergo hours of grooming and highlights from the film's stylists for Claire's lighter strawberry-blonde look.

She has spent years getting her short tresses coloured and chopped into the signature fringed bob to play the beloved character - but can finally change-up her style.

Revealing her new hair-do on Instagram, she penned: 'It's true! After years of the #JurassicWorld Claire cut and color, I've dyed my hair pink!

'I initially dyed my hair this color after the first Jurassic World in 2014 for a UCLA sociology class I took called, ~Hip and Cool: A Study of Distinction and Exclusion; The History of the Hipster~ I did an ethnographic field report that observed hipsters in their 'natural habitat' and thought it was appropriate to immerse myself in the experience⁣ .⁣

The daughter of director Ron Howard went on to pay tribute to the hit franchise, describing it as a 'beautiful experience' that she will never forget.

She also thanked her stylist Charlie Rogers for pulling off Claire's 'killer hair' for years, as well as for styling her fuchsia 'farewell cut and colour'.

She continued: 'The fact that this Jurassic World adventure is coming to an end washes over me in waves. This has been a beautiful experience I'll keep with me always

It is not the first time the ginger actress has dyed her tresses while filming Jurassic World: Dominion, as she temporarily changed-up her locks when production shut down amid Covid-19.

She trialled a fuchsia hair-do after filming in London came to a grinding halt on March 13 after only just beginning production in February.

She tweeted: 'I'm sure @JurassicWorld won't mind I changed Claire's hair to fuchsia — what do you think?'

But the sixth film in the Jurassic Park franchise then became the first major movie to resume production amid the COVID-19 crisis, as lockdown restrictions eased in the summer.

Cast and crew had to isolate together for months, without being able to see their families, and a total of 40,000 coronavirus tests were carried out in the process.

According to Deadline, the Jurassic World set was equipped with a 'Greenzone', which saw staff temperature-checked daily, a slew of medical staff on hand and isolation booths at the ready.

Pinewood plastered 1,800 COVID-related signs around the studios and added 150 hand sanitizer stations as well as 60 more sinks for hand-washing. At the end of each day, all communal areas were antiviral fogged.

As a result of the strict measures, only an estimated 100 COVID-19 tests returned positive - some of which were false positives.

One positive case forced production to halt temporarily las month, but this was a minor spanner in the works and shooting soon resumed.

Bryce has not been the only person in the Jurassic team to pay tribute to the end of production, as director Colin Trevorrow thanked his team over the weekend.

Colin, 44, told Deadline: 'I'm not sure I can put it into words. It has been remarkable. Our crew and our cast has been so resilient. All producers have worked around the clock to make it the best it can be. It has been inspiring.'

Likening the process of returning to work amid a pandemic as being part of a family, he added: 'I've never been as immersed in a filmmaking process. Because of the protocols, the actors didn't go far from set. The distance was stripped away. There was a lot of laughter at a time when it has been hard to find things to laugh about.'

The director, who also co-wrote the sequel, also marked the end of filming by posting a snap with some of the cast to Twitter, penning: 'Wrap on Jurassic World Dominion. Always hard to say goodbye to family.'

The film continues the Jurassic Park saga, picking up where 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom left off, with a collection of dinosaurs - including a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Velocirapter - loose on mainland America.

Jurassic World: Dominion sees Bryce yet again starring alongside Chris Pratt, playing Owen Grady, but also brings back Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, who starred in 1993 original Jurassic Park.

While all three have since appeared in the franchise again [Neill and Dern in 2001's Jurassic Park III, Goldblum in 1997's The Lost World and 2018's Fallen Kingdom] this will be the first time the trio are on set again together.

Universal had set a June 11, 2021 release date for Jurassic World: Dominion, but this has been pushed back until June 10, 2022 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

2015's Jurassic World was one of the highest-grossing movies that year, earning $652.2 million domestic and $1.6 billion worldwide, with 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earning $417.7 million domestic and $1.3 billion worldwide.
