Selma Blair keeps warm in black fleece as she takes pup Pippa to the park on rare rainy day in LA

A rare rainy day in LA didn't stop Selma Blair from enjoying some fresh air and exercise with her beloved pup Pippa on Wednesday.

The actress, 48, took her canine companion out for a stroll at a park in Beverly Hills.

For the outing, she chose a black fleece over a blue shirt and a pair of baggy pale blue pants.

She held onto Pippa with a red leash that matched the dog's collar.

Selma appeared to be makeup-free and didn't wear a face mask despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018, she has previously spoken about how important her pet is to her, sharing: 'When my heart races with anxiety, this dog burrows in and calms me.'

The Hellboy and Cruel Intentions star has been open about her health issues and shares her journey with her fans via social media.

And while she has her ups and downs, lately Selma has been sharing upbeat posts on Instagram.

Earlier this week, she posted a cheeky photo of herself on the beach with boyfriend Ron Carlson.

With the Malibu pier as a backdrop, she gives the impression of being naked with just a very large hat preserving her modesty as Carlson, fully clothed, stands with one arm draped around her shoulders.

Last month, she spoke candidly about her passion for horse riding which has been curtailed by her MS.

'I’ve always wanted to be a great rider,' she wrote alongside a photo of herself with her horse Mr. Nibbles whom she purchased in 2018.

'When I bought Nibbles three years ago, it was my biggest investment in myself..... But [the MS} got too big and I had to take a break until now.'

She went on: 'I am at the beginning. Still. And I cannot stop smiling. I cannot. When I am at the barn. I finally have the white unicorn I cannot believe is in my life and I want to rise to the occasion.'

Selma had revealed back in August that she had been able to take up riding again.

Despite not being able to 'feel my left leg, or where my hips are', she managed to ride a few circuits of a ring and take a few low jumps on the gray.

'Today, we managed to get it together to have a few minutes and I could not stop smiling,' she wrote alongside the snaps.

'We took it slow. I didn’t criticize my equitation too much. I am a mess with MS.'

She then pledged: 'I am going to learn how to use this body, brain and emotions. I am so grateful to have a dear horse and trainer.'

Perseverance: 'I¿ve always wanted to be a great rider,' she shared. 'When I bought Nibbles three years ago, it was my biggest investment in myself..... When I am at the barn. I finally have the white unicorn I cannot believe is in my life and I want to rise to the occasion'
