Amazing Chocolate | The World of Suzy Homemaker

A couple of weeks ago, Beloved I bobbed over to the Derbyshire Summer Market, at The Roundhouse in Derby - the first and oldest surviving railway roundhouse in the world. I'd never been before, but what a stunning venue! With its beautiful architecture, The Roundhouse is a far cry from the local village hall and yet it was still only £1 entry and £1 for parking.

Bargain!

I'm a bit of a sucker for craft markets and was expecting the usual stands of this and that. But I was in for a real treat. It wasn't just the venue that was stunning; the range and quality of the wares on offer was quite something.

Oh yes. This was MY kinda market.

Four go glamping in a converted church - www.suzy-homemaker.co.uk

What with both our Birthdays AND our Wedding Anniversary, May is a big month here at OneandSeventy and to celebrate, Beloved and I like to take off for a week. It's become something of a tradition to retreat to the forest and we can usually be found hiding out in a log cabin run by Forest Holidays.

Deerpark, Cornwall

We discovered this holiday company in 2007, after booking a long weekend in Deerpark - a wonderfully relaxing getaway deep in the heart of a forest in Cornwall.

It's a wonderful location, Kate. Although not as quirky, Forest Holidays also has Tree Houses as several of its sites and might be

From pagan slumber, when the gospel trump
Thundered its challenge from his dauntless lips
In peals of truth."

Every now and then, something screams "TAKE ME HOME!"

Oh alright, I concede. This actually happens quite a lot.

Like when I saw THOSE shoes at Bicester last week.

And THAT bag.

The Saucepan Game - www.suzy-homemaker.co.uk

Every few months or so, Beloved and I meet up with Moo & C. Nothing fancy. Just good friends getting together for something to eat and a bit of a chin wag. It's always a very sedate affair, with lots of soft drinks and healthy food...

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! (Translation: It gets VERY messy!)

Way into the wee hours, the evening invariably ends with several glasses of whisky and a few rounds of The Saucepan Game.

The What?!
