Carl Beam - ExhibitExhibits

Exhibits in public spaces provide the community an opportunity to experience original art, historic photos, or cultural treasures that reflect St. Catharines' stories, creative self-expression, experiences, and perspectives.

Each year, exhibits are displayed on a rotating basis on the 3rd floor of City Hall, in the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre and Centennial Gardens. These exhibits are co-ordinated by the City's Cultural Services office with support from the Public Art Advisory Committee.

Centennial Gardens

When Centennial Gardens was unveiled in 1967 it included commemorative plaques representing the 12 provinces and territories of the time. These plaques were installed on a concrete wall that surrounds the Doug Cranmer Totem Pole. The original plaques disappeared years ago but distinct blank rectangles remain. These spaces now provide an opportunity for public art exhibits.
