Back then (2010) this was the bomb. However after several years it did not hold up for the beating that it took from all the gaming/travelling that I did.

There are some several points to check out:
1. The bass is good.
2. But it felt a bit muffled.
3. It has some audio bleeding when listening to loud music.
4. Not entirely noise cancelling headsets.
5. Plastic top seems cheaply made.
6. Had this for few hours at a time- it hurts the head go have it for a long period of time.

For what I paid it for-profit worth the try. But for 2017 standards and it's still 55 bucks. You can find better options.

No bias reviews here. Paid it with my own money.

These showed up a day earlier than expected, so that was cool. They are light in weight, which is nice, they fit over my ears nicely and the sound quality is good, but kind of seems to depend on what you're using them with.
On our pc, the sound is great, but not as loud as we had hoped, but that has been an issue with our pc.
On a small mp3 player, they sounded much better. Better than any other pair I've used. The bass was great, and not too 'boomy'.
On my phone, which has mp3 & video support, it was also great.
Depending on how you wear them, or how big your head/ears are, there could be some discomfort after long periods of use. I felt them pressing directly on my ears after a while, and they did make my ears warm after a while as well.
The adjustable straps are nice, click firmly and stay where you want them to.
The cord, which was a big part of why I got these ones, is wonderful! Instead of just being right next to what you're listening to, you can get up and walk around a bit! The one I have, is around six feet in length at least. I've so far left it wrapped up like it came, and that gives me around three feet to move around comfortably in my chair or couch.
While these may not be the best around, I've so far found them to be a good deal for the price. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a new pair.

I've had a pair of these for years, and after loaning them to my kid for a bit, I was disappointed to find that one of the emitters stopped working. (Skullcandy called him a rough user when he broke those)

Having used these for ultra-low-budget film audio mastering and other miscellaneous audio tasks for nearly 20 years, I didn't hesitate to buy them again, even though they've been discontinued. The newer and competitive models at this price point just don't seem to be of the same build quality.

This was my first ever purchase from Amazon, got it for a great price of $12 when it was on sale long time ago. Its been many years that i have these and they work just fine. Sound quality is reasonable but the noise cancellation not so much. I like how big the cord is and tha pads are comfortable. More like 3.5/5 but i can only do either 3 stars or 4.

Hands down the best you can get for the price as with a lot of things the more it cost is most likely going to influence its quality. These headphones beat out some way higher priced ones. Super comfortable very generously length-ed cord that is very durable but super flexible at the same time. The construction of the frame is a little flimsy but it will definatly hold up to normal use just dont toss it on the floor or let a baby handle them (thats why i needed to purchase a new pair in the first place haha) Now the most important part the sound. The sound is far far better then you will find in any other headphons from this price range they are more then sufficient for day to day users or people who listen to a lot of itunes or what have you. Now these are not for the audiophile those people know who you are fine details are a little lost on these and the bass range is also not super. Great purchase for anyone looking for a pair of budget headphones with really decent sound.

Sony MDRs all seem to require a decent amount of power. Since the lower the frequency, the more power required, using these on an iPod or other battery device will yield poor bass response. As the headset makes an honest effort to produce that low note, it robs available power for the rest of the frequency range. This also explains the "low volume" complaints. Rock, rap, techno all overemphasize bass and tend to want to be played loud, so you'll need a plug-in-the-wall source device if you want to boogie. Otherwise, they're great for modest volume midrange oriented music on a portable player. Get rechargeable batteries, you'll get a bit over half the battery life you'd get with phones designed for portables. The imaging is very good, enabling one to pick out individual instruments on a big band recording or proper stage placement of movie sounds. My "real" phones are Grado's; leagues ahead in sound quality but sometimes I'll use these when comfort is vital (like when lying down).

I keep looking for a good comfortable set of cheap over the ear headphones, and each time, I end up hating everything else I find in this price class, and going back to these ones. They are comfortable, even for my very large head. They don't block out outside noise too well, but for me, I'm prefer being able to hear what's going on around me. They aren't too tight on my very large head, I can wear them for hours. I'm on my 3rd or 4th pair now... they do have a tendency to break along the adjusting headband if one isn't careful (why I rated 4 stars) but duct tape was always good as a quick cure until I could buy new ones. For the price though, they last long enough. But if someone is careful, they can provide years of service. Sound wise, they probably aren't THE BEST, but for the price, I think they are good for what you get.

I've seen people complain about lack of bass... the bass seems fine to me. Maybe some people prefer it louder... in that case, they can adjust their sound output to suit their tastes. When I run some deep bass music, it seems to handle it well... even when turned up. But I don't listen to my music turned up super loud either. But for the price, they are good.

They say you get what you pay for and this is no exeption. The sound is good but unlike quality closed ear piece headphones they don't block outside noise as they dont fit snugly over your ears. Just flimsy.
If you want to liasten to music uninterrupted from the noise of the outside world (which is why you want headphones) these will not deliver.
