Love Island USA is based on the massively popular British show of the same name and follows a group of single people who move into a luxurious villa for a summer with the goal of finding love.

After arriving at the villa, the contestants are required to 'couple up' and participate in weekly coupling ceremonies in which they can either reaffirm their pairings or find new partners.

In addition, new cast members, also known as 'bombshells',  introduced throughout the summer to test bonds between couples and stir up drama.

The show previously aired on CBS but will release its fourth season exclusively on the streaming platform Peacock.

In May, the official Twitter account for Love Island USA attributed the move to the 'explicit nature of the show.'

A press release for the upcoming fourth season also promised a 'steamier' iteration with 'naughtier games and sexier challenges.'

The move will also allow for the show to more closely match its ITV2 counterpart's daily episode release schedule.

Love Island USA will release six episodes a week beginning on July 19.
