Previous Next 1 of 5 Protect your skin from winter weather

The winter holiday season often arrives bearing many gifts — and a number of challenges. If you're living with psoriasis, winter weather can increase the risk of a psoriasis flare. To protect your skin from cold, dry air, apply a moisturizer several times a day. If your skin is very dry, oils may work best — they have more staying power than creams or lotions and are more effective at preventing water from evaporating from your skin. Apply moisturizer after bathing, while your skin is still damp. Using a home humidifier also may help soothe your skin through the holiday season.
