Jude and Sadie's daughter in Ecstasy scare

The two-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Jude Law and Sadie Frost swallowed Ecstasy at a children's party, it emerged last night.

Iris Law had to have her stomach pumped and a brain scan in hospital after accidentally taking the tablet, which had been left on the floor of a London club.

Miss Frost, 34, who was with Iris at the party, spotted her chewing and grabbed the remains of the tablet before she could finish it.

Iris was taken to hospital by ambulance but recovered quickly enough to be allowed back to the family home in Primrose Hill, North London, the following day.

It is believed Iris found the discarded tablet on the floor of the Soho House Club, in the West End, on Saturday afternoon.

The room at the private members' club - owned by Nick Jones, husband of Channel Five newsreader Kirsty Young - had been open as a bar the previous evening.

Road To Perdition star Law, 29, is in America filming and was told of the drama in a phone call from his wife.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said last night that officers were called to a London hospital at 4.11pm following reports that a two-year-old child had swallowed half a tablet which was feared to have been Ecstasy.

He said: 'The child was attending a children's party where she is believed to have picked up a tablet which had been left on the premises.

'The premises were used as a nightclub/bar on Friday night. It is believed that the child's mother discovered the two-year-old with an object in her mouth.

'She managed to retrieve a half of what turned out to be a tablet before it could be ingested. The child was kept in for observations.'

Analysis of the tablet confirmed that it was Ecstasy.

Police sources last night said that there was no suggestion that the child had been neglected by her parents and there are no plans to take action against them.

'This is being treated as an unforeseeable accident outside the parents' control,' said a source.

He added that any private action against the owners of Soho House would be a matter for the parents.

The case is being investigated by West End Central police station in Central London. A focus of the inquiry will be how the dangerous drug came to be in a room being used for a children's party.

Shane Phelan, assistant manager of Soho House, said: 'There was a private party here on Saturday and this is a private matter.

'There was an incident and emergency services were called. As far as I know, Nick Jones was not here at the time but I am sure he is aware of what's happened.'

Miss Frost and Law celebrated the birth of a son, Rudy, last month. They also have another son Rafferty, five, and Miss Frost has a son Finley, 11, from her previous marriage to former pop star and actor Gary Kemp.

Miss Frost starred alongside Kemp in the 1990 film The Krays. She has since been in Bram Stoker's Dracula and An Ideal Husband. Her mother said last night that Iris was 'fine'.

She said at the stars' home in North London: 'Sadie's feeding the baby and putting him to bed at the moment.

'You can understand that it's distressing for her. But Iris is fine.'
