Rita Rea (pictured, left with mother Anna), 61, said she feared she would become 'homeless and bankrupt' after her brothers (including David Rea, right) claimed she had pressured her mother Anna into writing a new will that left her £1 million London home only to her.

Patients with excruciating superbug infections are being failed by the NHS and may be missing out on crucial drugs, a major study has found. Hard-to-treat infections are on the rise as the bacteria that cause them are becoming increasingly immune to the antibiotics used to treat them, even with repeated courses of the powerful drugs. The World Health Organisation has warned that, by 2050, superbug infections could lead to 10 million deaths across the globe each year. Now a disturbing report has found that many NHS clinicians have 'little knowledge or awareness' of how to tackle these life-changing infections. The study, published in the medical journal Nature, suggests some clinicians are failing to provide 'suitable treatments' due to a lack of knowledge about antibiotic resistance, potentially raising the risk of creating further drug-resistant infections in the NHS.

Simon Cowell has left fans in shock with his 'frozen' appearance on the latest episode of Saturday Night Takeaway.  The media mogul, 64, made an appearance on the first episode of the new series of Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly's show. Under UK wildlife law it is illegal to damage, destroy, block or disturb badger setts; hunt saboteurs claim to have found hideaways blocked with rocks in the area of Diddly Squat, so named because Clarkson claims that's how much he makes from it. Writing in his Sun column earlier this month, Clarkson said he told the police who came out to visit him that he had no reason to fill in the setts - because he shot all the badgers instead, seemingly under licence.

She isn't cultural enough, not literary enough, not deserving enough. How will tributes to her spangly outfits sit alongside Rodin sculptures and all those Virgin and Child paintings? Frankly, they couldn't be more wrong. Taylor Swift is as significant to world culture as any of these great pieces.

The actress, who is nominated for her role in Oppenheimer, drew further attention to her look with a gold necklace and matching wristbands. 

Donald Trump ran away with a victory in South Carolina on Saturday night with a  win that gives him a straight sweep of the four early primary contests in the Republican presidential primary. Not even a minute after polls closed at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, the race was called for Trump in an embarrassing defeat of Nikki Haley. Trump declared his victory at his Election Day party held on the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia, saying: 'This was a little sooner than we anticipated.'

Mark Chapman, 50, has reportedly been dating Clere Collier for months. Ms Collier,43,  is based in Dubai for work but makes regular trips to the UK where she invests in London's property market. But now Ms Collier is also making time for trips to Manchester,where MOTD2 is broadcast, to see Chapman who is from Sale in Greater Manchester. A source told The Sun: 'It's early days but Mark and Clere are in a good place and enjoying each other's company. Mark's focus has always been his children and work, so a relationship was unexpected.'

Dramatic footage captured Sara Jorge, 26, and her Belgian boyfriend Ammar Deruyck (right) being carried to safety from the balcony of the burning 14-storey block on Rafael Alberti Poeta Street (left), which caught fire at 5.30pm on Thursday. Local authorities say 10 people have been killed in the blaze; Ms Jorge and Mr Ammar have spearheaded a fundraising effort for those left homeless by the tragedy, which has raised €12,000 to date. Ms Jorge said she thought she and Mr Deruyck 'were going to die' - but both refused to believe it was their time.

Littler, 17, only entered the public eye recently where he became the youngest player to reach the the World Darts Championship final. However, he has become equally famous for his love of kebabs. Hot Spot, Littler's local takeaway in Warrington even offered him free kebabs for life and after he reached the final of the WDC, where he lost to world number one Luke Humphries , and named a kebab after him- the Luke the Nuke Special. However, Littler has now announced he is ditching the takeaways in a bid to look after his health. In words reported by The Sun , Littler said: 'It's not seen as a good thing.Darts players get what we want really.'

We're used to seeing Princess Beatrice perched in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, but it turns out she isn't only a lover of summer sports. I spotted the eldest daughter of the Duke of York curling while holidaying in St Moritz. The 35-year-old, who is ninth in line to the throne, brushed up on her technique alongside her property developer husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi , 40, and Royal friends including Princess Olympia of Greece , Prince Ernst August of Hanover and Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece. While several members of the party wore heavy boots on the ice, Bea chanced her luck by opting for a pair of £140 Converse trainers.

Protesters marching in support of Palestine have shut down Tower Bridge this evening. Activists were seen waving Palestinian flags and lighting off flares as they brought traffic to a standstill. Drummers appeared to lead the march, pounding out a beat as protesters clapped and chanted 'free, free, Palestine'. Demonstrators carried a banner that read 'Save Gaza, Ceasefire Now' as they marched across the bridge.

Mel B has revealed the Spice Girls are supporting their bandmate Geri through her husband Christian Horner's scandal as she 'leans on Victoria Beckham.'  Former racing driver Christian, 50, is currently being probed over claims that he sent 'sexually suggestive' texts to a female employee on his Red Bull F1 team - allegations which he has vehemently denied. Geri, 51, was said to be 'devastated' over the scandal with a source telling MailOnline she had not felt able to engage with her bandmates - even going as far as to unfollow all of the Beckham's on social media. 

The oil painting named The Adoration of The Kings was estimated to be worth between $10,600 and $15,900 in 2021 when Christie's attributed the work to someone in Rembrandt's circle, putting it up for sale in Amsterdam. But Sotheby's ultimately determined the work to be a real Rembrandt at its auction in December of last year, as the price soared to $13.8 million only two years after the last sale. During an extensive examination that lasted for 20 months, experts employed X-ray analysis and infrared imaging and consulted with multiple leading Rembrandt scholars. As some bidders remained unconvinced, no one bid at the auction on December 6. But the painting was ultimately sold at a guaranteed price of $13.8 million by an unknown collector.

Police swooped in on a wild house party of 300 rowdy youngsters just outside Brighton on Friday night after neighbours were attacked and their cars were punched and kicked. The out-of-control party was broken up by police who said that at least 100 to 200 teenagers had descended on the seaside town of Worthing, engaging in anti-social behaviour. Residents took to social media to complain about the appalling behaviour of the gangs of teenagers. Hours after the party was cleared, an 18-year-old boy man was assaulted and taken to hospital. Police are working to identify the perpetrator of the attack.

Somewhere at the bottom of the Philippine Sea rests an undetonated hydrogen bomb with around 70 times the power of the one dropped on Hiroshima. The 1965 disaster which saw the weapon sink to the bottom of the sea is just one of at least three cases where the U.S. lost nuclear weapons. According to some sources, the number could be as high as six, and that does not account for those lost by other countries.

Google's AI chatbot is facing fresh controversy for its response on pedophilia, refusing to condemn it while suggesting that individuals cannot control their attractions. The bot termed pedophilia as 'minor-attracted person status' and emphasized the importance of distinguishing attractions from actions. It asserted that not all individuals with pedophilic tendencies are evil and cautioned against generalizations. The response sparked criticism for being too lenient. In contrast, when questioned by DailyMail.com, the bot gave a more measured response, acknowledging pedophilia as a mental health disorder and highlighting the importance of seeking help to prevent child sexual abuse.

Taylor Swift has laid down the law in her relationship with Travis Kelce and the NFL star isn't too happy with some of them, according to a report.  The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has found himself thrust into the spotlight amid his relationship with the popstar and she is said to be cautious about his public image, particularly following his drunken display at the Super Bowl parade.  And now six months into their relationship, the songstress reportedly feels she's in a position to be able to establish some ground rules.

A father who fatally shot his 22-year-old son confessed to the killing on Ring doorbell footage moments later. David De Jesus Contreras, 52, shot his son Eric Contreras in the head in Pinecrest, Miami-Dade County in November last year.  In the aftermath of the shocking violence Contreras spoke to his wife outside the property trough the doorbell before being arrested.

Bronny was boarding at District Dogs in Navy Yard on February 16 when he was kicked by an employee in an 'unknown area'. He ended up losing consciousness and had to be taken to a nearby vet, where he succumbed to his injuries. Parents have hired an attorney to take legal action against the day care center. The employee has yet not been charged or arrested by officials.
